Just had your first chiropractic treatment? That’s a big first step — and we’re so glad you’ve started your journey with us. 🙌
To help you feel your best and support your recovery, here are a few things we recommend for 24-48hours after your session:
⸻
💧 Stay hydrated
Your body is working hard to adjust and rebalance — so give it a hand by drinking plenty of water. Hydration helps your muscles recover, supports joint movement, and can even reduce post-treatment soreness.
⸻
🆕 Avoid anything “new” for now
Now’s not the time to try a new gym class, DIY project, or anything your body isn’t used to. Keep things familiar and gentle — your body needs a little time to process the changes from your treatment.
⸻
⚖️ Nothing too strenuous… or too still
It’s best to avoid heavy workouts or intense activity, but also try not to sit for long periods either. Gentle movement like a walk or some light stretching is perfect — just keep your body moving in a relaxed way.
⸻
🔥❄️ Use ice or heat if we’ve recommended it
Depending on your treatment, we might suggest using ice to calm inflammation or heat to ease muscle tension. If so, use it for no more than 15–20 minutes at a time and take breaks between applications.
⸻
✨ And a quick note on soreness…
It’s completely normal to feel a bit sore, tired, or “off” after your first few treatments — a bit like how you might feel after starting a new workout. Your body is adjusting, which is actually a good sign that things are shifting in the right direction. Most people find that this soreness lessens as they continue treatment and their body begins to stabilise.
