Today is World Diabetes Day and this year’s theme is Diabetes and Well-being at Work.

Did you know 7 in 10 adults living with diabetes are of working age? For millions of employees, diabetes is a daily reality, but in the workplace, it can often become a source of stress, stigma, and fear.

Despite growing awareness of employee well-being, many people with diabetes still struggle to balance their health with work expectations, often hiding their condition. This impacts mental health and limits career growth. This year, the International Diabetes Federation is calling for inclusive and supportive workplaces where people with diabetes feel safe, valued, and empowered…not stigmatised.

Together, we can eliminate misconceptions, educate employers, and create workplaces where people living with diabetes can thrive—without compromising their health or ambitions.

It’s Men’s Health Month but 3 million men in the UK are still living with a condition that’s widely misunderstood and often untreated...A condition called Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

When King Charles III revealed his diagnosis last year, NHS website visits for prostate advice spiked by 1,000%. Yet 87% of men aged 45+ still haven’t had a prostate check.

🔍 Why?
• Lack of knowledge (21%)
• Embarrassment (21%)
• Thinking they’re “too young” (18%)

BPH isn’t cancer but it can seriously affect sleep, confidence, and long-term health. The good news? Treatments like Aquablation therapy are changing the game. This robot-assisted water jet procedure offers fast recovery, preserves sexual function, and is helping reduce NHS wait times.

📣 So let’s make Men’s Health Month count.

🧤 It’s Gloves Off Week! 🌍
This week, our team is taking part in Gloves Off Week, helping to raise awareness about using gloves responsibly in healthcare. 🩺

It’s easy to reach for gloves out of habit, but not every task needs them. By using gloves only, when necessary, we can help protect our patients, reduce environmental waste, and promote better hand hygiene.💚

A huge thank you to our amazing staff for championing the message: “Gloves on? Or just habit?” 🙌

Together, we’re making small changes that make a big difference, for our patients, our colleagues, and our planet. 🌱

A vital reminder of the importance of early detection and timely access to care.

At Nuffield Health, we’re continuing to invest in breast cancer diagnostics to help more women access faster, high-quality screening.

Recently, our Chief Legal and Governance Officer, Ben Thomson, and Chief Clinical Quality Officer, Alison McCourt CBE ARRC along with our Breast Consultant Zoe Barber unveiled our latest mammography system featuring biopsy capability, ensuring women and men can benefit from advanced imaging and earlier detection 💚
