Fashion trends come and go but your own style stays with you. This is why I’m still in love with this minidress which I wore when I met my partner 15 years ago and am wearing again tonight for date night. The faux fur chocolate brown coat I bought with my mum in probably 20 years ago too has become a staple piece in my wardrobe. She bought the short version in cream.

Yes I maybe in my mid 50s and wearing a mini dress but who wrote the rules?! I love the drama of a mini dress and the sexiness of stilettos which I’ll mainly be sitting down in tonight!! Don’t let your age get in the way of how you dress or ever give up being you. 💃

The devil is in the detail and the same applies to how you style yourself. The simplest of switches can make all the difference. Give it a try! 💃

This is particularly useful if your proportions aren’t balanced like me and you need to lengthen your legs or your torso or raise or lower your natural waist. These jeans are rib cage Levi’s so slightly too high in the rise for me so adding the dark burgundy belt gives me the illusion of more body and lowers my waistline.

My client came back this week as some of the colours in her wardrobe were no longer working for her. When she came to see me years ago her hair was much darker and her skin tone was warmer.

Today her hair has silver highlights and is a cooler natural brown plus her skin tone has lost some pigmentation so it’s cooler. She has transitioned from a Clear dominant palette to this Cool palette and looks so striking wearing it. Even better when we swap her lipstick to a cooler shade too.

Embracing grey isn’t for everyone but for my client it really works with her eyes and skin tone. Interestingly her full palette has changed from a CLEAR WARM DEEP to a COOL CLEAR DEEP so she still suits brighter high contrast but just the cooler based shades.

Hair colour is so important to get right and it’s something I discuss in detail in my sessions with my clients as it can dramatically enhance your appearance or wash you out. A good check is if you are having to lift your look by over compensating on makeup, if that’s the case something could be off.

During my client’s recent Ultimate Image Transformation we shopped her wardrobe (well we did steal something from her partner’s wardrobe too which he’d never worn!) 🤣

Her dilemma was she had nothing to wear at the weekends. We put together 24 outfits in 3 hours! 😲

Sometimes it’s hard to look creatively at your own wardrobe, we just get stuck in a rut and organise our wardrobes in a way that doesn’t present obvious outfits. One way of giving you more choices is by mixing up your work and casual wardrobe. It instantly gives you some exciting new looks costing you nothing!!

It also reveals the gaps in your wardrobe which could be very basic pieces or the right shoes for example to complete your looks.
