👮‍♂️🚨Today we celebrated Emergency Services Day!
The children had lots of fun taking on different important roles. They became firefighters, putting out “fires” using water pistols, and doctors, carefully performing first aid on the babies. They also practised dialing 999 while building their mark-making skills. To top it off, they explored an exciting emergency services sensory tuff tray, sparking imagination and curiosity throughout the day.

Little Owls Announcement

Fundraising for a Life-Saving Defibrillator at Little Owls Day Nursery

We are pleased to announce that Little Owls Day Nursery is beginning a fundraising campaign to install a defibrillator on-site. We will be doing lot of fundraising days to raise money for this amazing course.

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding every child, member of staff, parent, and visitor who steps through our doors. While we hope it will never need to be used, having a defibrillator available could make a vital difference in the event of a cardiac arrest—dramatically increasing the chances of survival.

Protecting and caring for the children in our nursery is always our top priority. Installing a defibrillator reflects our commitment to best practice and ensuring we provide the safest, most supportive environment possible.

To make this vision a reality, we’ve set up a Go Fund Me fundraising page and, starting in September, we’ll be hosting a variety of fun and engaging fundraising events. Every penny raised will go directly toward purchasing and installing this life-saving equipment. We are working closely with OurJay Foundation who will be supplying the defibrillator for us. They are an amazing foundation who raise awareness around the importance of defibrillators. More information can be found on ourjay.org.uk

Today our children embraced their inner photographers to celebrate National Photographer Day. With cameras and big smiles at the ready, they’ve been striking poses, snapping pictures of their friends, and shouting a very enthusiastic “cheese!”
The room buzzed with creativity as the children experimented with angles, framed fun moments, and even directed their friends like true professionals. From silly faces to serious model stances, every shot told its own story.

It is the time of the year where we begin to say goodbye to our wonderful children who are about to begin their exciting new adventure at school. It has been an absolute honour and a joy to watch them grow, learn, and develop into the amazing individuals they are today. We will truly miss each and every one of them, and we wish them all the very best as they take this next big step.

📚 It's that time of year again when we begin to say goodbye to some of our preschool children as they prepare for their exciting next chapter—starting school!
This week has been full of meaningful moments as we’ve tried on school uniforms, looked through school photographs, and shared stories about what school might be like. We've also been reading lots of books to help the children explore their feelings about this big transition and to build their excitement and confidence.
We are so proud of how far they've come and can't wait to see all the amazing things they'll do next.

At Little Owls, our children enjoy a wonderful range of extra-curricular activities, including Yoga, Samba Tots, Baby Zumbini, Sing and Sign, and Toddler Dance. Each of these sessions is carefully designed to offer children the opportunity to have fun while developing important skills. They help to strengthen fine and gross motor abilities, encourage social interaction, support early language development, and inspire creativity and imaginative play. Most importantly, these activities are filled with laughter, joy, and plenty of smiles!

At Little Owls, we offer both breakfast and after-school clubs for children attending Standhill Infants and Portchester Juniors.

Our clubs provide a fun, safe, and relaxing environment where children can unwind after a busy school day. We offer a variety of engaging activities that encourage creativity, socialising, and play in a calm, welcoming space.
