Enjoyed BetaTrade Event at the NEC this weekend. I like to think outside the box sometimes and have saddles and accessories to try when things may not be working. It's always a financial risk but I believe trying new things and listening to the horse and rider is the best part of this job.

Hello, I am now taking my summer holiday. I will be attending a family wedding for a few days and then away for 2 weeks. I will reply to messages from Monday 11th August. I will be contacting those waiting for a saddle order to arrive on my return to book you in for a fitting. It may be worth noting before leaving a message that I am currently fully booked until mid september for new appointments. Many thanks for your continued support😊

Chris is based in Angus and also covers Fife, Perthshire, and South Aberdeendshire.

Chris is a SMS fully qualified independent saddle fitter who we are delighted to be working with.

“I have been around horses from a young age, from ponies in to horses and found a love for working with thoroughbreds and re-schooling them after a racing career. I have mainly enjoyed hacking, riding club activities and some low level eventing, my aim was to get a few completions and placings at BE level which we achieved.I trained and worked as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist for a few years, before completing a Certificate in Equine Biomechanics and then become interested in saddle fit and how it can influence way of going and rider comfort, I went through the Society of Master Saddlers Saddle fitting course to qualify.
I have been enjoying working with the trickier shapes and sizes, native breeds as well as sports horses and everything inbetween. I met Glen and Jane from Ryder Saddles this year and loved their ethos to provide quality saddles and accessories for horse and rider.”

Hello, I having a few days away to visit family and will be back answering messages on Monday 26th May. I have been totally overwhelmed with around 30 to 40 new messages per day and am trying to get back to people and get everyone booked in. My diary is very full and booked up in advance and I will try and help new clients where possible. 6 day weeks and 12 hour days sometimes and I could still use more days in the week. Bah, if I had a £1 for every time someone said this to me, I'd be wallowing on a beach in Barbados with a Pina Colada in my hand. 🍹

❌ STOP apologising for being 'just' a happy hacker. DRUMROLL PLEASE - this is my fave thing to say to someone: 'It is better to be a happy hacker than a sad show jumper'.
🤗 The happiest horses I see are those that hack a lot. Without a doubt.
⏰ Most happy hackers actually spend MORE time in their saddle than any other discipline!

And, regardless of what you do - both your and your horse need to be comfortable and happy!
So, if you ever think you don't need a Saddle Fitter, or a nice saddle because 'all' you do is hack, give yourself a slap or a wedgy and remember that you're still important and so is your horse! 😘😘😘

What a beautiful day, thanks for the lovely messages some of you have sent over this past few weeks, they have made what can be a very stressful job a hugely rewarding one. Have seen some amazing progress with horses and owners. Great teamwork with Shonagh Stark and Catriona Goulding last week. Awesome visit to some new suppliers, always looking to work with brands that have options for tricky to fit horses and riders and invest in research to progress and improve. I will be doing a post on budget, to help people understand what opens up to them in terms of options for both horse and rider.😊Visit to Bates, Ideal, Fairfax, Albion and Ryder Saddlery.
