Home Birth with Community Midwives from Epsom & St Helier NHS Trust is Safe, Sensible and Satisfying - join us to find out more and connect with our Home Birth Lead Midwife and parents who have chosen to have their baby at home with us Planning to have your baby at home is a good way to reduce your risk of requesting an epidural, having a ventouse or forceps delivery, having a caesarean section, needing stitches or even having a haemorrhage! We can offer you one to one care with dedicated and experienced community midwives who will stay with you throughout your labour and for the first few hours after the baby's birth. For more information your are welcome to attend one of our regular home birth workshops or have a chat with your Community Midwife and ask for a referral to our Home Birth Lead. We also have a robust and enthusiastic team of Supervisors of Midwives (SoM) who are available 24/7 to offer support, advice and advocacy for women and their families. You can contact a SoM through the hospital switchboard 0208 296 2000 and ask for the on call Supervisor of Midwives. Your ideas about how we can improve our service are incredibly valuable to us and we would welcome your contribution.
