Hey lovely people!
January is done. It’s been very busy in the JGWC headquarters, hence why my social media pages go on the back burner. I’ve gained quite a few younger people recently and we’ve talked lots about a particular part of our brain called the Amygdala, and I thought it would be worth sharing with everyone, as understanding is just as important as the strategies and techniques that we all build.
Hope you’re all implementing some self-care that I always bang on about 😃. Please make sure you rest at some point today, it is soooooo important ❤️

I’m beyond proud of one of my smaller aged young people in creating this game around getting to know others a little better.
When we first started sessions, I took a different version with me to play so we could create conversation and build the relationship in readiness to do other emotions and feelings work. Some weeks they weren’t interested so we played games instead, other weeks they would do a bit and then play games. It may have taken a couple of months to finish but the determination and end goal is the same, also being able to achieve this in small steps so wasn’t overwhelming has been astounding. I’m sooooo looking forward to actually playing this with them tomorrow. I love my job ❤️

Hi everyone
Well, here we are into a new year already. I don’t make new year resolutions, I put too much pressure on myself, stress or worry about it, and then feel worse! So, I just try and do something new each year and that’s enough.😊
Please see some tips below on how to manage stress. Most people I have spoken to recently are stressed in some form, most is work stress.
I’m a bit of a fan of Mel Robbins and one of her techniques below is good for overthinkers or if you have a lack of motivation.
If you give any of these tips a try, then do let me know if they work for you ❤️

Hi everyone
This is now my time for a rest…
Thank you all so much for being part of my journey this year starting my own business, here’s to next year and supporting more children and adults on their journey of life.
I will return on Monday 5 January but please see some numbers below of some helplines that can assist over the Christmas period should you need it.
Wishing you all a restful and peaceful time.
Julie ❤️

Love a bit of Charlie Mackesy to boost me or remind me of what’s actually important. Everyone I talk to at the minute are all feeling similar things with the added pressures of Christmas coming up and trying to be organised and keep everyone ‘happy’! If you feel it’s all not going quite right for you at the moment, take some time out, and remind yourself of all the lovely, kind things you are actually doing or saying and that your kindness and thoughtfulness is far more important than many other things that might not get done. People will recognise and appreciate kindness more than you think ❤️

Today is World Kindness Day.
Here's a few acts of kindness you could try:

- Leave a kind note for someone to find or give someone a compliment.

- Make a cup of tea for a friend, colleague or family member.

- Smile or say hello to people you pass.

- Clear out some items and donate them to a charity shop.

- Let someone merge into your lane while driving (I know I appreciate this one a lot!)

Small acts of kindness can make the biggest difference to someone's day. Let's be kind every day, but also, don’t forget to be kind to yourself too ❤️

I had the pleasure of being part of this 2 years ago and was good to see a number of events take place locally specifically for men. There is still a real stigma around men talking about their feelings and mental health but I have seen an increase in men getting in touch with me and others I know over the last few years too and I hope this continues. It’s ok to reach out for support, it’s ok to not feel ok. It takes strength from all people to reach out so is definitely no ‘weakness’ at all. Please keep talking, please share posts like these to raise awareness and also helps with advertising these events too. Do get in touch if you need someone to talk to or some guidance, I do have a few spaces available this month.

We are taking part in campaign this November to support men’s mental health. Pop by the library to check out our collection of self-help books!

are encouraging everyone to have a conversation with someone – anyone – each day. A friendly conversation can make someone’s day. Get involved. Why not start that conversation today?

A few good reminders below and to instil some positive self-talk when overthinking or feeling like those thoughts are spiralling.
If you’d prefer to talk it through, then I do have 2 available slots this week (as it’s half term and a little quieter overall). Please DM me or email me for more info ❤️

It’s world menopause day today and something I feel quite passionate about and try and research as much as I can. There are soooo many symptoms and All on the Board have mentioned many below, but it’s how all of these and more affects us mentally, physically, emotionally…
There’s definitely more awareness these days, that’s why it’s good to read, like and share these pages as gets it out there a bit more and more people talking too. But it needs more! If I won the lottery, I’d put money into creating more research and support groups around the country, there’s hardly anything around this area that I’m aware of. Please let me know if there are any. 😃
If you need support/techniques and someone to talk to, please message me for session rates. If there’s enough of us, perhaps we can create our own little support group ❤️
