Nutrition before & after massages … When I did my holistic health degree, apart from the mind-body connection my next favourite topic was nutrition.

Today I was asked what to eat, what supplements to take pre and post massage. This isn’t something that’s asked often but I LOVED the question & so I thought I’d do a little explanation & also a little diagram for those who are more visual (like me)

So … in this example I’m just going for a relaxation massage OR a deep tissue.

Eating prior to a massage … avoid anything that’s heavy. Something light 1-2 hours before your treatment. This ensures you’re comfortable. Avoid anything spicy, greasy, caffeine or alcohol. Be well hydrated, especially with deep tissue .. however avoid drinking too much 1-2 hours prior. Especially with a weaker bladder.

After a massage…

I’d recommend eating lightly again 30-60 mins after your session. With deep tissue definitely anti inflammatory food & electrolytes such as coconut water drink wise for best results/recovery.

With relaxation massages… our bodies wants to keep you in ‘rest & digest’ so again keeping it light, easily digestible foods. Especially on an evening so your body can also focus on healing & calming/ better sleep.

I’ll post about supplements another day so it’s not such a long post 🤭

I’m so grateful to share that CSWM has been growing beautifully and I feel happy that all of you trust me for your healing journey of self-care.

It’s been amazing to witness the increasing awareness around the importance of holistic therapy & me time.

As the demand for appointments has grown and grown … I’ve found that my regular clients — many of whom have been with me for some timeeeee — are struggling to find space in the calendar. Even when booking in advance. 😮

With that in mind, I’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to pause accepting new clients, effective immediately.

This choice comes from a deep commitment to those I’m already supporting & treating. I want to ensure I can continue to offer the presence, care & consistency that each treatment deserves. 🙏🏻✨

🥲🤭 Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a happy birthday last week — of course I celebrated with a spa day! 🧖‍♀️ 👏🏼💜

10 years ago on my birthday, I was squeezing in clients at my place of birth!! … whilst juggling spa and clinic jobs. 😮

Now I’m standing in my own home, reflecting on a whole DECADE as a self employed therapist — and let me tell you, it’s been deeper than any deep tissue massage! 💆🏻‍♀️ 🧠🤣🤭

Wow, over 10 years of being my own boss… From the place I was born, to working in spas all over the place, online therapy or wherever I’ve been in the world in this time! What a wonderful experience. One I’m thankful for 🙏🏻

Thank you to everyone who’s been on this journey with me since the start… It’s been amazing to be a part of your journey too. I’ve seen your children grow 🥲

I have been warned to never ever stop being a therapist, like ever 😅🙌🏼

But the truth is… being a therapist .. especially a holistic therapist … it’s not something that ever stops. No matter what … It transfers & pours into everything that we do. It’s not a job - it’s who we are. 💆🏻‍♀️💜✨

Aww, guysss what a January and first week of Feb 🤩 it’s been sooooo busy and I’m so grateful I got to see the majority of you before I go 🥲

It’s a lovely feeling as a business owner (CSWM has done record breaking voucher and product sales this year) knowing lots of gifts will be opened Christmas morning makes me super happy 🤩 🎁
