The real history I wish we had been taught in school 📖✨

I’ve been reading How to Kill a Witch and it has honestly stayed with me in a way I didn’t expect, because the more I’ve learned, the more I’ve realised how little most of us actually know about what happened here in the UK.

It's estimated over 4,000 women were executed for witchcraft in Britain (most of which were murdered in Scotland), and even that number is uncertain, because so many deaths were never properly recorded.

& I say women, not witches, because these were real women with lives, families, stories, and futures, who were caught up in fear, control, and mass hysteria driven largely by power and paranoia.

What struck me most is that we all seem to know about Salem in America, where 19 people were executed, and it’s taught, filmed, and talked about over and over again.

Yet here in the UK, thousands of women were killed and it barely gets mentioned.

So much of this was rooted in a society that was uncomfortable with outspoken, intuitive, independent, or simply “different” women.

And to think, the last witch was executed in 1727, only 299 years ago...

Reading this has made me think about how important it is that we don’t just romanticise “witches” as an aesthetic, but remember the real women behind the word, and the injustice they lived and died through.

Have you heard much about the witch trials in Britain before, or read this book? I’d really love to know your thoughts ⬇️.

Follow along for more honest reflections, history, and spiritual conversations like this, you’re very welcome here ✨

This Full Moon in Leo shines a light on you tonight, your goals and the things you’ve quietly been calling in, even when no one else could see them yet.

With the Strength card guiding this moon, it’s time to trust in yourself, to believe in what you’re building, and to remember that just because something hasn’t arrived yet doesn’t mean it isn’t already on its way.

Your goals are closer than you think, even if the path there hasn’t always felt clear.

This moon asks you to step into spaces that might feel uncomfortable at first, because it’s often in those moments that your confidence grows and your true strength begins to show. Not the loud kind, but the steady, grounded belief in who you are and what you’re capable of.

Under this Leo Full Moon, you may wish to manifest
✨ Creativity that comes from your soul
✨ Confidence you can stand behind
✨ Courage to take the next step forward
✨ Strength in your self belief

All of this takes energy and active practice.

Manifestation under Leo isn’t about waiting, it’s about choosing to move, even gently, in the direction of what you want.

If you’re ready to back yourself and take that next step, comment 🦁 and follow for more moon and tarot guidance.
