Thrive Psychology Bucks

Thrive Psychology Bucks I am a Clinical Psychologist with a special interest and expertise in running psycho-educational gro Do you want some help but can't commit to regular sessions?

Are you feeling frustrated by how much your physical health condition is getting in the way of your day to day life? Is chronic pain leaving you feeling down and making it difficult to imagine a better future for yourself? Do you sometimes feel lonely living with your condition and would like to meet others who understand your experience? I have over 10 years' experience delivering groups using evidence-based psychological approaches for people with chronic pain and physical health problems. Pain and physical health problems cannot be understood solely from a physical perspective - they are experienced by the mind and are shaped by our personal experiences, our thoughts and feelings and the influences of those around us. During my time delivering groups and workshops I have born witness to how they enable people to:
- Connect with others who understand their experiences
- Develop a different relationship with their physical health condition
- Learn strategies so they can make positive changes to lead a richer, healthier and more meaningful life. A bit about me:
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from University College London in 2011. This training provided me with specialist skills and experience in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches grounded in psychological theory that focus on reducing psychological distress and promoting emotional well-being. I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (H.C.P.C.), the regulatory body for healthcare professionals. I was drawn to the area of physical health due to my longstanding interest in the mind-body link and my personal experience of having a form of arthritis and low back pain. I live with my family in Chalfont St. Giles and outside of work I love getting outdoors in nature or meeting up with friends and family.

With October being , we’re sharing this reminder that you may not always be able to see someone’s disability, so we cannot assume what someone’s abilities may be.

According to the nonprofit Invisible Disabilities Association, an invisible disability is a physical, mental, or neurological condition that is not visible from the outside yet can limit or challenge a person’s movements, senses, or activities.

Companies can support employees with invisible disabilities by fulfilling requests for workplace accommodations and providing flexible working conditions.
