Identifying and becoming smart to your triggers is the first step in starting to change the outcome or pattern. ​​​​​​​​
If you don't know what triggers you or makes you feel upset, anxious or angry then try to keep a trigger monitoring diary where you list whether the trigger was external (someone, something, environment) or internal (a change in body sensation, a thought or image, emotion or action) . It is worth keeping the diary for a month or two to see if there are any similar triggers. ​​​​​​​​
