We are scalp micropigmentation (SMP) specialists based in Essex At Scalp Sense we specialise in scalp micropigmentation, which is also known as SMP.

This is a specialist hair tattoo that gives the appearance of natural hair follicles. The end result gives the appearance of a ‘shaved’ or ‘buzzed’ hairstyle. SHAPED UP BY REQUEST!

Normally I would have said that this client would have needed a very soft, subtle finish to his treatment...but then I met him and realised with his bold look and strength of character he'd pull of the shape up off so well that I went with it (it might have helped his cause that he's an ex-boxer and celebrity body guard though).

This look won't work on everyone by any stretch of the imagination - but on those who it does work on, it's powerful!

So frequently I say to potential clients that holding on to hair for too long just creates anxiety and effects self esteem. A hairline rebuilt like this can over come those horrible feelings for good!

One of the biggest changes when getting Scalp Micropigmentation is to transition over from a hair system.

Whilst wigs offer some comfort and a reasonable solution for hair loss, they almost always leave the scalp in terrible condition, even with weeks of recovery time allowed for the skin, it can be left looking and feeling and sore. It can actually be months or even years until the skin has properly recovered. Most frustratingly that damage is usually suffered whilst the client isn't actually happy with the look of the system and almost all report feeling self conscious because of the stigma attached to wearing a wig.
