What a great morning! Absolutely loved it actually, felt really good, even with the hip and knee niggles! That last km uphill is a bit of a killer but I just kept bloody going… and I’m pretty happy with my time too! 😃

I sometimes wonder whether I should knock spin on the head. I wonder whether people still enjoy it, whether I still enjoy it…?! But then Weds comes around,
and after each session, I’m reminded that I STILL ABSOLUTELY BLOODY LOVE IT! 🤣 And judging by some of the recent comments, so does everyone else!

So, thank you for showing up each week, for putting in the effort, for whooping, clapping, smiling, sweating,
fancy dressing, and showing up week after week! It really does make me so happy and I appreciate you all! 🫶

So, I trained in the presence of greatness this morning! This lady… what can I say?! She’s a legend. And she’s just qualified to represent GB at Hyrox World Champs in Stockholm later this year!!! WOW! Can I get a whoop whoop for please?! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

She’s just ace. Always upbeat, always consistent, always sarcastic, always bringing the banter and the smiles (occasional eye rolls and grimaces)! Past client, turned fellow class participant, turned friend. Unreal achievement and you deserve to be so proud! I’m gonna big you up because I know you won’t do it yourself! 🤣🤣

Eating in January… doesn’t have to be about crash diets, juicing, cutting out carbs and making extreme lifestyle changes… No no nooooo!! ❌

I actually think the opposite! It can be varied, balanced and healthier though, for sure!

My approach to health and fitness has always been about making small, steady and consistent improvements…

WHY?

Big changes often involve changing too much at once, promising yourself you’ll have more willpower this time, and that you’ll definitely stick to the plan… but after 2 weeks, you’ve failed. Because it’s UNREALISTIC in the long term.

This post is to show that you can make small incremental changes to your diet over time; start to introduce new things, cut down on processed food, drink more water, eat one more piece of fruit daily… doesn’t matter what it is! Just make some small, positive changes! Hopefully this inspires you to do just that! 👏🏼

This is a simple message for women everywhere…

LIFT THE WEIGHTS. 🏋🏼‍♀️

And they don’t even need to be heavy!

I have access to various gyms and lots of equipment, but today I did a 30 min shoulder focussed workout with only a pair of 3kg dumbbells. No real reason, just because I’d reminded myself how lighter weights (+ higher reps) can still create a lovely muscle stimulus / burn!

8 x exercises. 15 - 20 reps each. 3 times. Simple! Focussed on one muscle group to create maximum impact… and I DEFINITELY felt the burn! 💪🏼

Women! Lift weights! Pleeeeeease!!! You don’t need to spend hours on the treadmill. The weights don’t need to be heavy as long as you find it challenging! Grab some light weights and try this little workout to start with & let me know how you get on! ☺️
