Hi everyone, be careful in the heat if you’re in Europe this week.

I received an email today regarding the random clinical trials that have been carried out in Cardiff Uk.

It’s fantastic news to be honest and puts Rewind Therapy up there with other successful therapies.

I’ve been using this technique for a number of years now with a 95% success rate which is not to be sniffed at.

Here’s an extract from the email:

The Randomised Control Trial done at Cardiff University has confirmed that Rewind is as good as CBT or EMDR with of course the added advantages that single traumas were resolved in one to two sessions, three at the most; all done via internet, no face to face and realization of the cost benefits to the NHS.

Why don’t men talk about mental health?

Societal expectations and traditional gender roles play a role in why men are less likely to discuss or seek help for their mental health problems.

We know that gender stereotypes about women – the idea they should behave or look a certain way, for example – can be damaging to them. But it’s important to understand that men can be damaged by stereotypes and expectations too.

Some research also suggests that men who can’t speak openly about their emotions may be less able to recognise symptoms of mental health problems in themselves, and less likely to reach out for support.

Men may also be more likely to use potentially harmful coping methods such as drugs or alcohol and less likely to talk to family or friends about their mental health. However, there is research to suggest that men will access help when they feel it meets their preferences, and is easily accessed, meaningful, and engaging.

I have treated many men for various mental health problems.

My client base has become majority male dominated.

I have asked myself "why are more men making appointments to see me?"

Maybe I'm approachable and easy to open up to?

What type of trauma can Rewind Therapy be used for?

The short answer is any kind of trauma, anything that causes distress, anxiety and fear due to a past event.

Without going into to much detail I have a 13 year old client who had a throat infection last year. He is afraid to eat and so Rewind Therapy was used to change the emotions caused at that moment. The memory wasn’t removed but the emotions to that memory were changed. He is now eating again.

Each traumatic event is unique to the individual. No less and no more severe than other traumatic events as we all process them differently.

Today I had a zoom session with a veteran who has been suffering from flashbacks for over 30 years.

We did Rewind Trauma Therapy which took about one hour.

At the end of the session the veteran couldn’t describe how he felt without smiling.

Things will improve for him over the next few hours, days and weeks 😊

Covid-19

Help for victims of trauma.

Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and its variants hundreds of thousands of people have suffered and a high number of people have sadly died due to its effects.

Losing a close friend, family member or loved one is difficult and even experiencing a close death experience is traumatic to everyone involved.

A witness to a traumatic event can suffer just as much as the person it happened to.

Doctors, nurses, care home staff and all those on the frontline have witnessed events they were never prepared for and the toll this pays on their mental health is showing.

Many people will battle through their feelings and most will cope without lasting effects however, a small percentage of people will need some help.

Just a bit of legal information to give you confidence and conformation that when you come to me for therapy all is good 👍:

Dear Registrant

We wrote to you yesterday to let you know we had sought legal advice on whether the complementary healthcare practitioners we register are included in the businesses permitted to remain open during the national restrictions in England introduced by the Government today.

Based on the advice we have received, we are writing to let you know that CNHC Registrants in England meet the definition of “other…health services, including services relating to mental health” contained in Section 47, Part 3 of the Schedule to The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020 and can therefore continue to practise.

This legal advice has taken into account that in Section 25E of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 practitioners on Accredited Registers are defined as engaged in work that includes the provision of healthcare.
