The family would like to thank to all relatives and friends for the support during this sad time, also thank to everyone who attended the funeral and for the kind messages of sympathy.

Thank you to husband Kelvin, mum Lil, stepdad Drew, sister’s Elizabeth & Victoria, daughter’s Melissa & Kacie and son Koby.

Mr Christopher Stewart Pleasance of Leeds has sadly passed away at home in Leeds aged 54 years.

Born in Chesterfield and he has lived in Leeds since 2019.

Christopher worked as a consultant construction engineer.

He enjoyed snooker, pool, astronomy and watching all sports.

Christopher leaves sister Paula, brothers Brian and David, he also leaves Stewart, Vicky and Stepfather Pete.

A private service will take place.

Mr Malcolm Shaw (Malc) of Danesmoor, Clay Cross has sadly passed away at home aged 72 years.

Born in Chesterfield and a lifelong local resident.

Malc worked in the Pit, Biwaters, Tubework’s, as a Taxi Driver and also for SDL Minorfern.

He enjoyed dog walking, socialising, spending time with his family, rabbiting, football and going out on his motorbike.

Malc leaves his wife Davina, son’s Neil, Lee and Rio, daughter’s Tina and Zoe, grandchildren Rylie, Amber, Charly, Albert and Poppy. Sister Mandy, brother’s Pete, Charles and David and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The funeral service is due to take place on Tuesday 17th February 2026 at The Chapel, Market Street, Clay Cross at 12.00pm followed by burial in Danesmoor Cemetery at 12.50pm.

We are expecting a large attendance for the service and with limited space in the chapel we politely request that anyone who wishes to pay their respects stand at the roadside on Malc’s final Journey.
A route that the Horse Drawn Cortege will take will be published in the coming days, this leaving the chapel service for immediate family and close friends.

At the family’s request could everyone attending the chapel service remain outside allowing Malc to enter the chapel first followed by his immediate family. The service will be followed by a public burial, everyone welcome to attend.

The family would like to welcome everyone back after the service to The George, Clay Cross.

No formal attire , just casual clothes like Malc wanted.

Donations in the memory of Malc will be taken for Ashgate Hospice.

Mr Norman William Gregory of Pilsley has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 90 years.

Norman was born at Mill Row, Clay Lane, Clay Cross and a resident of Pilsley for 60 years.

Norman was a machine operative at Ashton Corrugated for 25 years and he retired in 1996.

He enjoyed bowling, Canasta, socialising, gardening, football, horse racing and baking.

Norman was predeceased by his wife Eileen, and he leaves his daughter Kathryn Miller, and granddaughter Chloe Miller.

The funeral service is due to take place on Friday 13th February 2026 at Chesterfield Crematorium at 11.15am.

Mrs Susanne Carol Fletcher of Danesmoor has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital 42 years.

Born in Scarsdale Hospital and lived in Morton until 2021 then lived in Danesmoor Clay Cross.

She loved spending time with her family, camping and days out to Matlock.

Susanne leaves her husband Kelvin Fletcher, children Melissa, Kacie and Koby.
Grandchildren Charlie, Koa-Dexter, Mya, Lea and Oscar. Also, Mum (Lil) stepdad (Drew), Vicky, Liz and Big Nana (sadly Deceased)

The funeral service is due to take place on Thursday 29th January 2026 at The Chapel, Market Street, Clay Cross at 9.30am conducted By Jonathan Reeve followed by a committal service at Chesterfield Crematorium at 10.30am.

Mrs Patricia ‘Dawn’ Johnson of Danesmoor, Clay Cross has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 68 years.

Born in Danesmoor and a local resident all her life.

She loved to play bingo, charity shops, her caravan at Skegness and her grandkids. Spending time with her family, puzzle books, wordsearch books, and going to the Community Christ Church.

Dawn leaves her husband Keith, children Craig, Daniel, Emma and Kyle also grandchildren Alfie, Izzigrace, Millie, Floella, Poppy, Arthur, Matilda and Evie.
Dawn also leaves her brother John, sister-in-law Sue and her sister Karen.
Dawn was predeceased by her 2 sister’s Janet and Julie.

The funeral service is due to take place on Thursday 12th February 2026 at Community Christ Church, Clay Cross at 1.00pm followed by a committal service at Chesterfield Crematorium at 2.15pm.

Donations will be taken in the memory of Dawn for Macmillan.

Mr Kevin Pashley of Temple Normanton has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 80 years.

Kevin was born in Brampton, Chesterfield and he was a local resident for 45 years in Holmewood and for the last 10 years in Temple Normanton.

Kevin worked at Clay Cross Company / Biwater mainly.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, nature and a strong passion for the local community and being part of the parish council.

Kevin sadly leaves his wife Margaret, children Andrew, Joanne and James, grandchildren Emma, Victoria, Jade and Alexandria, also great grandchildren Bradley, Megan, and Thomas.

The funeral service is due to take place on Tuesday 10th February 2026 at All Saints Church, Heath at 11.00am followed by burial in Temple Normanton Cemetery at 11.45am

Donations in the memory of Kevin will be taken for The HDU at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Mrs Barbara Jean Smith of the Old Vicarage Care Home, Stretton Road, Clay Cross has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on her 90th birthday.

Born in Chesterfield and a resident of Grassmoor for 60 years.

Barbara was a secretary for an accountant from 1952 until her retirement in 2015.

She loved gardening, baking, listening to music, singing, and dancing.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Bill, and she leaves her daughter Jane, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service is due to take place on Wednesday 11th February 2026 at The Chapel, Market Street, Clay Cross at 11.45am conducted by Jonathan Reeve followed by committal service at Chesterfield Crematorium at 12.45pm.

Please wear colourful clothing.

The family would like to thank friends and family for such kind words and messages of support and sympathy they have received at this sad and difficult time, also thank you to everyone who attended Brian’s funeral.

Thank you to all the carers that helped look after Brian also thank you to the East Midlands Ambulance Crew, having several callouts.
Like to thank all the staff at Chesterfield Royal Hospital who looked after Brian.

Thank you to all the staff at the WoodThorpe Inn for putting the refreshments on.

Thank you to Jonathan Reeve and Shaun for giving Brian a lovely service.

Mrs Eileen Teresa Wragg (Nee Sleigh) of Clay Cross has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 84 years.

Born in Stockport, Cheshire and a local resident for over 60 years in Clay Cross.

Elieen was a shop assistant at Lomas and Sons for 16 years (1979-1995), then she became a shop assistant and then a cleaner at Gregory’s DIY / Peak Fireplaces (1995-2021) for 26 years.

She enjoyed walking in the Peak District, pottery and reading.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband Henry Wragg (died April 2012) , she leaves her son Michael (Mick) and daughter-in-law Ann, grandchildren Emily and Matt, also sister-in-Law Lillian.

The funeral service is due to take place on Thursday 5th February 2026 at St Patrick and St Bridget RPC church, Clay Cross at 12.45pm followed by a committal service at Chesterfield Crematorium at 2.15pm.

Donations in the memory of Eileen will be taken for The Salvation Army and Ashgate Hospice.
