It’s with mixed emotions that we have been contacted by Jonathan Reeve today with the news that he’s taking a step back from funeral services to follow his own religious journey. From January 2026 jonathan will no longer be carrying out cremation services due to religious restrictions. Jonathan is to retrain within the Orthodox Church to become a Priest.

I would like to personally thank Jonathan for supporting us and our community for over 20 years, and wish him all the best in this new chapter of his journey. Although Jonathan won’t be able to take part in cremation services he will on occasion be available to give service in our own Chapel at Clay Cross and some other selected chapels in Brimington, Staveley, Derby Road and Whittington Moor. He will also be offering grave side burials in cemetery’s on request.

Thanks Jonathan all the best, from Robert and the Team at Hoult’s

This week it has been lovely to see the chapel being used to its full potential. For some it is a place of fond memories of childhood, having once attended the Sunday school there when it was the old Baptist Church.

Situated in the heart of Clay Cross, the Chapel can seat around 70 people providing the perfect environment for a Celebration of Life Service.

If you would like to find out any further information regarding The Chapel or any of our other services, please call us on 01246 851194.
