My client has been coming to me on a monthly rotation.

She does most recreational sports, her body will allow, however, the body will only take so much before needing work to re-set.

I worked on my client by utilising light massage work, combined with deeper tissue & trigger point therapy.

Lastly, i completed the body re-set by using Instrumented soft tissue mobilization techniques (IASTM).

Full advice was also provided as part of the service, complete with Range of motion checks (ROM), this allowing to continually check my clients mobility throughout the session.

The recovery of the body is a process.

Today we was looking at shin splints, but what are they?

Shin splints refer to the pain and tenderness along or just behind the large bone in the lower leg. They develop after hard exercise, sports, or repetitive activity. Shin splints cause pain on the front or outside of the shins or on the inside of the lower leg above the ankle.

When do they occur?

Shin splints usually happen when you do exercise like running.

Can massage help?

Massage, can be an effective treatment for shin splints. It helps to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve flexibility in the affected muscles. Massage techniques can target specific muscles like the tibialis anterior and calf muscles, which are often involved in shin splints, to reduce tension and promote healing.

You'll have pain and tenderness along the front of your lower leg (shin).
