Is the most important thing for your loved one staying at home?

For many families, that is where the conversation begins.

When things start to change, it can be hard to know what the right next step looks like. You want them to feel safe, supported and cared for, but also to remain in the place they know and love most šŸ”

Live-in care can make that possible. With a dedicated carer living in the home, your loved one can continue their daily routines, stay in familiar surroundings, and have someone there to support them whenever they need it. It offers reassurance for families, while allowing independence, comfort and a real sense of home to remain.

In this video, Sophie shares a gentle and honest look at what live-in care really means. From how it works, to why familiarity, trust and consistency matter so much, it is a chance to understand your options in a calm and reassuring way.

If you are beginning to think about care, this might be a helpful place to start šŸ¤

Have a watch whenever it feels right. And if it brings up any questions, we are always here for a kind and open conversation.

For many families, the thought of care can bring a lot of questions. Often it begins with a simple one:

ā€œIs there a way for them to stay at home?ā€

Live-in care can make that possible. With a dedicated carer living in the home, your loved one can continue their daily routines, stay in familiar surroundings, and have someone they trust there to support them whenever they need it.

At South Coast Home Care, we believe care should always feel personal. That is why our live-in care is built around consistency, familiarity and genuine relationships. Two carefully matched carers support each client in rotation, giving families the reassurance of familiar faces who truly get to know the person they are caring for.

For many people across West Sussex, Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey, it is not just about receiving help. It is about staying in the place that still feels like home šŸ¤

Contact us today to find out more about live-in care. We understand this can feel like a big decision for families, so our team is always here to talk things through gently and answer any questions you may have.

We’re really pleased to share that South Coast Home Care is now supporting families across Midhurst and Lavant šŸ¤

✨ Our February Monthly Round-Up

February has been filled with some truly lovely moments across South Coast Home Care, from celebrating our incredible team to sharing meaningful time with the people we support.

⭐ Star Performers
A huge congratulations to our February Star Performers, Ruby Webber and Madison Parmar. Both have shown such dedication, kindness and teamwork, and we are incredibly proud of the difference they make every single day.

šŸŽ‚ Birthday Celebrations
We also celebrated staff birthdays this month for Zoe, Caroline, Jasmine and Avelina. We hope you all had a wonderful day and enjoyed the celebrations.

ā¤ļø Valentine’s Visits
Our carers headed out with heart balloons and roses this Valentine’s Day to bring a little extra joy to the people we support across West Sussex. It was a small gesture, but one that brought plenty of smiles and meaningful moments.

šŸ¤ Connection & Companionship
Spending time together is such an important part of wellbeing. Recently, Paige has been enjoying social visits with Anne and Audrey, sharing conversations, laughter and companionship that brighten the day.

šŸŽ Community Collaboration
This month we also partnered with V2 Radio for a special Valentine’s giveaway celebrating some wonderful local businesses.

šŸŽ€ Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness
Alongside this, we have been supporting the V2 Radio Bra Bank campaign, encouraging donations at our Chichester and Littlehampton offices to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer charities.

Thank you to our amazing team, our wonderful clients and our local community for making February such a special month. We are excited for everything the months ahead will bring.

We’re excited to introduce our new Expert by Experience (EBE) role ✨

This new role gives members of our team the opportunity to specialise in up to three areas they feel passionate about, such as dementia care, medication, continence support and more.

Once trained, our Experts by Experience will:

• Support seniors with reviews and assessments in their chosen subjects
• Have dedicated time each week to complete these reviews for clients who need them
• Provide feedback, recommendations and action plans to improve client outcomes

This is about strengthening knowledge, building confidence, and continuously raising the quality of care we provide.

At South Coast Home Care, we believe development and person centred care go hand in hand. When our team grows in expertise, the people we support benefit too.

We’re really looking forward to seeing the positive impact this role will have across our services. šŸ’œ

Today, we want to celebrate our February Star Performers ✨

A huge congratulations to Ruby and Madison.

Ruby has grown in confidence so beautifully in her role and continues to show incredible flexibility day to day. The feedback from both colleagues and customers has been brilliant, and it has been amazing to watch her develop and truly thrive within the team.

Madison is always so accommodating and flexible, and a genuine team player in every sense. She consistently goes above and beyond, with five-star feedback from both staff and clients to reflect the impact she makes.

Thank you both for everything you do. You are a big part of what keeps South Coast Home Care going, and we appreciate you today and always. šŸ’œ

Life can change more quickly than we expect, and sometimes a little extra support is needed alongside existing routines.

Hourly care is designed to slot in around someone’s current lifestyle, whether that’s help at certain times of day, support during recovery, or simply having someone there to offer reassurance and practical help when it’s needed.

The flexibility of hourly care means support can increase, reduce, or adjust over time, without disrupting the routines, independence, or familiarity that matter so much.

At South Coast Home Care, we take the time to understand how someone lives and what support will feel most helpful. Care is introduced gently, at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful.

If you’d like to explore how hourly care could fit around you or a loved one, you’re welcome to take a look at our hourly care page or get in touch for a calm, no-obligation conversation whenever it feels right. šŸ’œ

Although the colder days are still with us, there are signs that the seasons are beginning to shift.

Mornings feel a little lighter, afternoons stretch a little longer, and there’s a quiet sense that spring isn’t too far away. It’s a time when people often start to look ahead, while still taking care through the last of the winter chill.

For families, this can be a gentle moment to keep checking in, staying connected, and thinking about what support might feel helpful as routines slowly begin to change again.

At South Coast Home Care, we continue to offer calm, reassuring support through the colder days, while looking forward to the lighter, brighter moments ahead with you. šŸ’œ

Supporting someone living with dementia often comes with many changes, both practical and emotional.

Families may find themselves adjusting routines, offering more reassurance, and thinking carefully about how best to support their loved one day to day. It’s a journey that looks different for everyone, and it can take time to find what feels right.

It’s important to know that finding some moments challenging doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. It means you care deeply and are doing your best in a situation that requires patience, understanding, and compassion.

At South Coast Home Care, we support families as well as the individuals we care for. Our approach to dementia care focuses on familiarity, calm reassurance, and working together to provide support that feels respectful, personal, and steady.

If you’d ever like to talk things through or ask a question, our team is always here to listen, with no pressure and no obligation. šŸ’œ

This Valentine’s Day began with our team coming together to celebrate šŸ’œ We shared a little Valentine’s moment as a staff team, handing out heart balloons and roses before heading out to see the wonderful people we support.

Then it was time to share that love where it matters most.

Our clients mean so much to us, and moments of companionship, laughter, and connection are at the heart of everything we do. For some, Valentine’s Day is about romance. For us, it’s about kindness, presence, and making sure no one feels alone.

Whether it’s a friendly visit, a shared cup of what you prefer, a thoughtful conversation, or simply sitting side by side, those small moments matter. Having someone there, especially on days that can feel emotional, makes all the difference.

At South Coast Home Care, every relationship is built on warmth, respect, and understanding. Because care is never just about tasks, it’s about people.

Where bespoke care meets genuine compassion.
This Valentine’s Day, and every day. šŸ’œ
