Anatomically, our sacrum - the triangular(ish)-shaped bone at the base of our spine - is the keystone of our pelvis. It carries the weight of the spine and transfers it to our hips and legs. Tiny movements at the sacroiliac joints absorb shock, while muscles and fascia anchor here to connect the low back, core and glutes into one powerful web.
When fascia around the sacrum gets restricted, through injury, lack of movement, or stress, it can limit joint mobility, affect muscle function, reduce shock absorption and impact posture and alignment - making bending, twisting, walking, and other movements less fluid and more prone to strain, both local and more globally.
Myofascial release - using slow, connected pressure and stretching - helps soften these restrictions, restoring freedom throughout the fascial web, improving movement and easing low back or hip pain/discomfort.
I’d love to help if any of the above sounds like you ✨
