Lughnasadh Blessing, Celebration of Mother Earth and Nature's Abundance!
August 1st marks Lughnasadh, or Lammas, the Celtic cross-quarter day opposite Imbolc. It marks the beginning of the autumn harvest and the gentle waning of summer. Named for Lugh, sun god of the Tuatha Dé Danann, patron of art, craft, truth, and warriors, this festival honours the first grains, traditionally baked into Lammas loaves and shaped into corn dollies to hold the spirit of the land. (Thank you, Internet, for summarising for me)
Spiritually, it’s a time of inward turning, a moment to gather the fruits of our inner efforts, give thanks, and nurture the creative flame as it spirals inward.
Gaia is my true north, my teacher.
I’m grateful to my lovely drumming group, with whom I chanted harvest songs, wove corn dollies, and shared in ritual. Together, we honoured the season and were reminded of the deep abundance and wisdom that Mother Earth offers us all.
Aligning with Gaia’s energy and light means aligning with life, happiness, harmony, and joy.
