Have you ever wondered why yoga classes are structured as they are?
There’s a rhythm I follow every time - not to repeat a sequence, but to support something deeper happening in the body and nervous system as you move through the class.
It starts with stillness. Builds into movement. Peaks with energy. Then slowly, deliberately, comes all the way back down again.
And the final part, the bit many people rush past in everyday life, is actually where a lot of the integration happens.
The slowing. The softening. The moment you’re finally not “doing” anything at all, and the body gets a chance to actually catch up with itself.
You can visualise it like a bell curve.
I’ve written a blog post sharing how I structure my classes, why I teach this way, and a bit of the science that supports it too 🤓
