🗓 Expression of Interest Deadline: 8th February

This is a real opportunity to strengthen the national evidence base for Dramatherapy. Please e-mail MarissaGreen@badth.org.uk to get involved or to ask more!

Exploring Outcomes in Dramatherapy is an interactive, online workshop that will encourage participants to explore what they consider as outcomes in dramatherapy practice. The workshop will consist of some learning through powerpoint, some personal reflection, and some group discussion. There will be a mix of verbal and creative learning. This workshop is suitable for any dramatherapists (as well as art therapists, music therapists, and any psychotherapists/counsellors working creatively) who are currently working with clients or hoping to work with clients in the future.

By the end of this workshop, you will have a clearer idea of:
• How to distinguish and develop outcomes
• How your work is impacted by desired outcomes of the client, the therapist, and any other organisations or relevant parties (e.g., parents)
• How you might measure outcomes
• How you can communicate outcomes

About the facilitator
Marissa qualified in Drama and Movement Therapy (Sesame) (MA) from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2017, and as an Autism Practitioner from University College London in 2022. She currently works as a Mental Health Adviser at Anglia Ruskin University, and is an Experiential Group Leader for their Dramatherapy training MA. She also works freelance as a therapist, mental health consultant, and supervisor. Marissa is a published researcher, and a Professional Doctorate student investigating the use of outcome measurement in Higher Education Institution mental health provisions.

Can't make this date? This training will also be held on Wednesday 20th May.

📣 We stand with Higher Education Allied Health Professionals!

The British Association of Dramatherapists fully supports the Royal College of Occupational Therapists' Statement of Support for Members Working in Higher Education. ✍️ Higher education staff in Allied Health Professions are vital - their expertise sustains high-quality education, research, and the future pipeline of skilled practitioners our health and care systems urgently need. Their growing job insecurity and redundancy risks threaten not just academic roles, but the very foundations of safe, effective and innovative healthcare practice.

We call on decision-makers, institutions, and stakeholders to protect and value experienced educators and researchers - because strong education means strong practice across all AHPs, including dramatherapy.

Together, let’s champion secure, respected careers in higher education and safeguard the excellence of Allied Health Professions now and for generations to come. 🎓💪
