Join Marissa Green for an informative, reflective, and creative online workshop.
This session is designed to help Dramatherapists—whether currently practising or aspiring—to better distinguish, develop, and measure the "products" of the therapeutic process.

From shifts in attachment perspectives to rebuilding a relationship with trust, we will explore how outcomes are shaped by the client, the therapist, and external organisations.

This interactive workshop blends structured learning with personal reflection and group discussion. Expect a mix of:

💻 PowerPoint-led learning
🎨 Creative and verbal exploration
🤝 Peer-to-peer discussion

Key Learning Objectives:
🔹Distinguish and develop clear therapeutic outcomes.
🔹Understand how desired outcomes from various parties (clients, parents, organisations) impact your work.
🔹Gain practical tools for measuring and communicating these shifts effectively.

We are pleased to share a new professional resource developed by our Private Practice Committee.

This comprehensive guidance is now available as an exclusive benefit for our members, designed to assist in the formal creation and maintenance of a clinical will.

A clinical will is an essential professional document that outlines the necessary procedures to be followed should a therapist become unexpectedly unable to practice due to sudden absence, illness, or death.

Developing this document is a fundamental component of a safe practice, providing a framework to protect client wellbeing and offering clear instructions for a designated professional executor.

The guidance produced by the Private Practice Committee offers a reflective and practical framework for navigating these arrangements. The document includes:

🔹Selection of a Professional Executor: Identifying a suitable colleague to manage practice transitions and client care.

🔹Administrative Access: Managing the secure transfer of digital records, physical files, and professional accounts.

🔹Confidentiality and Data Protection: Maintaining GDPR compliance and ethical standards during the handover of sensitive information.

🔹Communication Protocols: Practical templates for notifying clients and professional bodies of a change in circumstances.

Members can access the Clinical Will Guidance by logging into their account via the link in our bio.

We are excited to announce that plans for our 2027 Conference are officially underway... and now we need to bring the committee together.

Following the incredible success of our 2026 conference, we are more motivated than ever to raise the bar. As 2027 marks the BADth Golden Jubilee, we are aiming to make our 50th-anniversary celebration bigger, better, and more impactful than ever before.

To make this landmark event truly representative, we need a committee that reflects the full depth of our community. We are looking for voices from across the membership—from those who have been with us for decades to our newly qualified and student members. Whether you are based in the UK or joining us from across the globe, your perspective is vital.

Save the Date for our first Meeting:
🗓️ Tuesday, 19th May
⏰ 19:00 – 20:00

This will be an initial welcome meeting to bring the committee together, introduce the vision for the Golden Jubilee, and discuss the early stages of planning.

"The psyche creates dramas, poetic fictions, it is a theatre.” — James Hillman.

Why is drama such a powerful force in therapy? How do the stories we tell help us navigate our deepest selves?

Join us for an immersive seminar exploring the intersection of Archetypal Psychology and Dramatherapy. We’re diving deep into the "poetic basis of mind"—where images aren’t just pictures, but the very material of our soul.

Led by facilitator Toby Chown, this session will bridge the gap between Jungian theory and clinical practice. Toby will share insights on the benefits (and the beautiful complexities) of using archetypal methodology in research and real-world therapy.

What we’ll explore:
✨ The dance between complexes and archetypes.
✨ How our own "inner dramas" draw us to specific clients.
✨ The porous boundaries between culture and the individual.
✨ Soulmaking through myths and fairy tales.

Our compass for the day? The myth of Eros and Psyche—a journey through love, loss, beauty, and struggle.

We are one of over 30 organisations and individuals who have signed the joint statement which has gained support from stakeholders across the mental health sector.

The number of adults seeking support for anxiety is rising. Despite NHS Talking Therapies receiving almost half a million presenting complaints of either anxiety or stress related disorders in 2022-23, less than half of people that access treatment via NHS Talking Therapies reliably recover from their presenting issue.

The campaign is asking NICE to update the guideline so that it:

- aligns with other updated guidelines and latest diagnostic criteria

- includes guidance for addressing barriers to access for marginalised and hard-to-reach people

- increases the number of therapies available for anxiety to improve patient choice

- considers a broader range of high-quality evidence on treating anxiety, including service user experience, long-term and follow-up studies

We look forward to continuing this work with UKCP and other campaign partners to ensure that every person accessing NHS support for generalised anxiety disorder and panic disorder receives timely, appropriate and high-quality care.

You can read more about the campaign’s key asks on UKCP’s website.

You can support the campaign by asking your MP to sign the joint letter to NICE here:

We are still reflecting on the profound impact of our recent conference in Glasgow, 'Shadows to Strength'

This evocative drawing, created by our member , beautifully captures the essence of our time together. It speaks to the journey of letting go and the quiet hope of becoming—moving through the shadows toward a new kind of strength. It was a truly thought-provoking programme that we won’t soon forget.
