🤰 Let’s Talk About What’s Actually Normal in Pregnancy
After asking what no one warned you about, here’s the truth:
There is so much that’s totally normal - but rarely talked about.
✨ Feeling emotional for ‘no reason’
Fluctuating hormones can make mood swings and tearfulness common - especially in the first and third trimesters.
✨ Aches, twinges, and weird sensations
Your ligaments are stretching, your body is adjusting - round ligament pain, back aches, and even sharp groin pains can all be normal.
✨ Forgetfulness (aka ‘baby brain’)
Yes, it’s real! Studies suggest hormonal changes and disrupted sleep may contribute to memory lapses during pregnancy.
✨ Anxiety or feeling overwhelmed
It’s completely valid to feel worried - especially if it’s your first baby. You’re not alone, and support is available.
✨ Changes to your body and mind
From vivid dreams to leaking breasts, restless legs to changes in digestion - these all fall under the big umbrella of normal
👉 But if something doesn’t feel right to you, always speak to your midwife or GP
