🤰 Let’s Talk About What’s Actually Normal in Pregnancy

After asking what no one warned you about, here’s the truth:
There is so much that’s totally normal - but rarely talked about.

✨ Feeling emotional for ‘no reason’
Fluctuating hormones can make mood swings and tearfulness common - especially in the first and third trimesters.

✨ Aches, twinges, and weird sensations
Your ligaments are stretching, your body is adjusting - round ligament pain, back aches, and even sharp groin pains can all be normal.

✨ Forgetfulness (aka ‘baby brain’)
Yes, it’s real! Studies suggest hormonal changes and disrupted sleep may contribute to memory lapses during pregnancy.

✨ Anxiety or feeling overwhelmed
It’s completely valid to feel worried - especially if it’s your first baby. You’re not alone, and support is available.

✨ Changes to your body and mind
From vivid dreams to leaking breasts, restless legs to changes in digestion - these all fall under the big umbrella of normal

👉 But if something doesn’t feel right to you, always speak to your midwife or GP

Your instincts matter, and we’re here to listen!

You’re doing better than you think. One day at a time 💛

✨ Bump Talks: “Is it normal to feel… this?” 🤯

Pregnancy is such a wild ride- full of excitement, love, and so many questions.

From wondering if that twinge is normal… to googling “Can I eat feta at 11pm?” 😅 - you’re not alone.

Let’s open up a real, judgment-free conversation:

👇 What’s something no one warned you about during pregnancy?

Whether it’s the emotional rollercoaster, weird cravings, or body changes you never expected - your experience matters, and sharing it might help someone else feel a little less alone 💛

☀️ Baby Summer Safety Starts with You!

As the warm weather continues, it’s so important to keep our little ones cool, safe, and comfortable.
Babies can’t regulate their temperature like adults can, and they’re more at risk of overheating – especially while sleeping or feeding. Whether you’re at home, out for a walk, or enjoying a family day in the sun.

Here are a few summer essentials every parent should know:

✅ Keep baby’s room between 16–20°C
✅ Avoid covering prams with blankets — use a parasol or clip-on shade
✅ Dress baby in light bedding and layers — check their chest or back for warmth
✅ Breastfed babies under 6 months don’t need extra water — just feed more often
✅ Always place baby on their back for sleep, even on holiday

Remember: If your baby feels hot, sweaty, or unsettled – it’s okay to remove a layer.

Let’s help spread the word and keep babies safe this summer.
Tag a fellow parent, carer or grandparent, or share this to your story!

✨ Words have power — especially when they’re your own! ✨

Birth affirmations are more than just pretty words — they’re powerful tools that help you stay grounded, focused, and connected to your strength during pregnancy, labour, and beyond 🩵🩷

Whether whispered through contractions, stuck to your birth room wall, or spoken during a quiet moment, affirmations can help calm anxiety, boost confidence, and remind you: you’ve got this 🫶🏼

Here are a few to try:
• “My body knows what to do.”
• “Each wave brings me closer to my baby.”
• “I am strong, safe, and supported.”
• “Breathe in calm. Breathe out tension.”
• “I trust my instincts.”

Which one speaks to you most? Or do you have a favourite of your own? Drop it in the comments and inspire another mum today 🤗
