Today our residents got creative with colours and patterns by decorating plant pots. The activity encouraged fine motor skills and involved a lot of concentration - and the finished pots look absolutely beautiful 🤩 We can’t wait to see the the next steps of the project- sowing seeds; watering and watching the plants grow along with the joy they bring! pot decorating Joseph Nursing and Care Home

Resident at Joseph Nursing Home took part in a winter-themed activity, where they created a “Winter Wonderland “picture by rolling marbles and spreading white paint across black paper in a tray, followed by making a snowman, using cotton wool. The activity was fun, providing sensory stimulation, visual engagement and focus. Creating a winter blizzard had an absolute positive impact on residents’ emotional wellbeing, prompted reminiscence and conversations. Here are some moments..

Last week we were delighted to welcome Bee, the Golden retriever to our Home. She brought immense joy and comfort to our residents. Her calm and affectionate nature created beautiful moments of connection and happiness. Residents enjoyed stroking her and sharing memories of their own pets. We can’t wait to see Bee again!🐾

Last week our residents thoroughly enjoyed taking part in fat balls making for the garden birds. They mixed seeds and nuts with lard; shaped the mixture into balls and let them cooling down. Hanging the finished items in the garden added an extra purpose to the activity and encouraged residents to observe birds afterwards. Such a great impact on wellbeing, supporting fine motor skills and emotional satisfaction through a simple yet purposeful experience 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛
