Living Life to The Full The Living Life to the Full course is a life skills course that aims to provide access to high quality, practical and user-friendly training in life skills.

The course content teaches key knowledge in how to tackle and respond to issues/demands which we all meet in our everyday lives

The following outline gives an overview of the type of things the course covers:

* Understanding why we feel as we do.
* Practical problem solving skills.
* Using Anxiety Control Training relaxation.
* Overcoming Reduced activity .
* Helpful and Unhe

lpful behaviours.
* Using Medication effectively.
* Noticing unhelpful thoughts.
* Changing unhelpful thoughts.
* Healthy living - sleep, food, diet and exercise.
* Staying well. What would you like to get out of the course?

* We all need life skills in our work, relationships and in every other aspect of our lives.
* Probably we all have very different reasons for doing the course. Some of us may suffer or are suffering from depression/anxiety or distress.
* Some of us may be caring/supporting people who are facing anxiety or depression.
* Some of us may be working with people with anxiety/depression. Whatever your reason for wanting to learn these life skills we hope the content proves helpful. The skills taught cover general skills/information we can all use in our lives when we feel under pressure, stressed or distressed

Introducing 'We Eat Elephants' — Building Emotional Resilience for Young Minds! 🐘

Attention mental health champions, those working in school education, or anyone working with primary school age children! The 'We Eat Elephants' (WEE) course by Living Life to the Full is a fantastic resource to help teach life skills and improve well-being.

What’s in the WEE course?

Two age-appropriate programmes...

Ages 5–8 — Grounded in storytelling and playful scenarios via characters like Adam, Beth, Chloe, and Deepak. Focuses on helping kids understand basic emotions through colouring tasks, feelings cards, and interactive handouts.
Ages 9–12 — Builds on 'understanding your feelings' to include coping strategies like:

* Doing things that lift mood
* Adjusting thought patterns ('looking at things differently')
* Practical problem‑solving
* Relaxation techniques like tension control training

Why 'We Eat Elephants'?
A fun metaphor... giant problems—like elephants—can feel manageable when you take them in small, bite-sized chunks. The course creatively breaks emotional challenges into doable steps.

Designed for educators and professionals
This isn’t a tool for kids to use unsupervised. It’s designed for teachers, mental health practitioners, CAMHS staff, school counsellors, and voluntary organisations who work directly with children in structured settings.
