Briefly, shiatsu works by identifying and relieving any areas of tension manifesting in the body, to help you feel balanced and relaxed. You can read more about shiatsu and watch an introductory video here: http://www.shiatsusociety.org/treatments/about-shiatsu.
I am a second year student at the Shiatsu College in Norwich where I am learning zen shiatsu, based in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and meridian theory developed by Masunaga Shizuto and his students. I hold an acupressure certificate from the Shiatsu College and a BA and MA in Chinese. I spent most of my previous career teaching and advising university students. I love working with people one-to-one and my goal is to promote holistic thinking about health and wellbeing. I am based in Colchester, Essex and offer mobile shiatsu service in your home or workplace.
Most shiatsu is practised on a futon, fully clothed. I can also offer seated shiatsu with Indian head massage, for individuals or for your company’s employees. If you are interested in Natrue certified natural beauty and skincare, talk to me about Weleda products.
