Aiming to take away the stigma attached to yoga & to show the benefits you can only experience from doing yoga. Level 4 Hatha yoga, Nutrition & Psychology Diploma (BSY)

Yoga is an individual experience and there are many benefits to gain from doing regular practice. There is a stigma attached to yoga, as it can be seen as an extended stretching session and not much else. And if you donโ€™t get a sweat on then it canโ€™t be doing anything. I will introduce you to the many benefits of yoga and how itโ€™s adaptable and suitable for all fitness levels. Its not just about fitness, yoga is about wellbeing for your mind, body and soul. Keeping the mind in good health in this busy world we live in, is something we all overlook. Taking time out to get involved in some of my yoga practice will help you keep some much needed balance in order. I will also be sharing nutrition guidance and better choices on what products to buy, and lots of wellbeing and general good health tips.

Children and young people are so vulnerable in today's world when it comes to their mental health. Their behaviour is a huge sign in what they could be experiencing.

Bad behaviours are often a sign of something bigger going on internally. They just need some encouragement & connection to express how they are really feeling ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿง  Mental Health Awareness Week ๐Ÿง 

It's so important to keep raising awareness even moreso after the last 12 months in lockdown, which has affected people in so many different ways.

No one is exempt as it can affect everyone no matter what age or background, so always remember to be kind as you never know what's going on in other peoples lifes.

Send that message or pick the phone up to someone this week just to check in on them. And ask them twice if there ok, as this can make a difference as sometimes it takes a bit of persuading to open up๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Best of all get outside for a ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ& invite a friend or family member to join you, or just enjoy some you time connecting with nature & the present moment.

This can be a powerful tool for our mental health ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ

I called my nan at lunch to check in on her as I know she has suffered being stuck in & it has left her feeling there was no point carrying on. So dont forget time is even more precious at that age & they can feel it more than you think ๐Ÿ’™

Over the last couple of weeks I have been making small changes each day towards changing my diet to plant based foods ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿฅ‘๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿ“

After doing lots of research ๐Ÿง I felt this was the right decision for me. I have never really liked meat/fish that much & always forced myself to eat it. Thinking my body needed it!

Also after watching several documentaries on how farming & fishing is one of the biggest devastations on our planet ๐ŸŒ I couldn't ignore this ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Potentially theres alot of health benefits that come with a plant based diet too, which I would like to explore...

I'm not trying to convert anyone or preach about my findings, but maybe just take the time to look into this for yourself & make your own ๐Ÿง  up.

Our ๐ŸŒ needs us to at least educate ourselves on what the real problems are ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Emotional awareness is so important & a huge life skill in being human ๐Ÿ‘ซ In my opinion this should be a subject taught at schools to prepare us for the ups & downs that life creates.

Yoga ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ & meditation ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป are a great way to calm the mind & practising to stay in the present moment, can help stop all the past & future thoughts taking over.

You never know what someone else is going through, so always be kind & compassionate.

Balancing Asanas - what are the benefits?

These are a great way of finding your centre & being able to remain steady has a knock on effect, as it can help you deal with difficult situations.

They can help with depression as they help you stay in the present moment, which inturn improves your focus, concentration & memory.

Little tip... keeping your eyes open when in these asanas will assist this even more.

Daily practice, even if it's only for ten minutes will build up to huge results. And don't forget to breath ๐Ÿ˜Š

Being Grounded to the Earth has so many benefits, but why?

Firstly the Earth is like a giant battery that contains a natural, subtle electric charge... this is a special energy !

Scientific research also promotes that we feel better after being grounded. And these are some of the benefits;

- less tense
- less stressed
- helps relieve pain
- helps you feel more balanced
- also helps to feel stronger & centered
- sleep better

It's so rare that we walk barefoot which makes it harder to feel the benefits, as our shoes act as a barrier.

I encourage you all to get outside, barefoot, & find a position that you feel comfortable in. You can sit, stand or find the asana pose to suit you.

Do a short routine or sit & meditate. Concentrate on being in the present moment & connecting to the energy around you.

Starting the day reflecting on our thoughts is a good way of setting yourself up for the day.

Being grateful for what we already have in life is super important, but also to keep focussed on those end goals, or daily routines you are wanting to change or improve.

Allowing your thoughts to be still & in the present moment is so beneficial to our overall thinking patterns. And can change our behaviour.

Adding in something new each day can add up to big results.

Why drinking hot water has so many health benefits ?

I like to start my day with a cup of boiled water to sip on throughout the morning. My 98 years young nan has done this for years & always sweared by it. So it's something I started doing a long time ago.

These are some of the health benefits...

- Better Digestion
- Removes Toxins
- Promotes Clear & Glowing Skin
- Improves Circulation
