Harwood House Nursing Home Harwood House is a highly praised 31 resident care home with nursing in a beautiful property in Cookham Dean, Maidenhead.

Our philosophy of care colours everything we do, from the way the home looks and feels, to the way we organise the care we provide. In 2010 Harwood House completed a £2m development programme designed to create an environment that is regarded by all who see, work or live in it, as extraordinary. Everything from the fabric and furnishings, to the lighting and even the pictures on the walls has been selected to stimulate and create interest whilst offering the ultimate in home comfort. All in all, Harwood House has been designed to increase the residents’ pleasure and sense of being at home. The standard of care is a vital factor in creating excellence in a nursing home. And its standards must be equal to the exceptional quality of the home’s physical comfort. That’s why we’re committed to extensive training – training far in excess of what the authorities require of us – in order to develop new ways of delivering care that puts the needs and wants of individual residents above any other consideration. To achieve this we operate a system of care called the Key Worker scheme. This means we get to know individual resident’s care needs and focus on them being met.

Podiatrist – required for independent care home
Harwood House is a luxury independent care home based in Cookham Dean, Berkshire.
We have a requirement for a self-employed podiatrist for our residents. If you are an independent professional podiatrist with at least 2 – 3 years’ experience working with elderly people, we would love to hear from you. We anticipate the requirement will be 2 – 3 times a month dependent on our occupancy.

Some recent arts and crafts activities

We tried a new Art technique called Paper Quilling which the Residents really took too, and made their own design to fill in their initial/ shape. It was a fiddly job making lots of quills, which we then used to make into different shapes. It was an intricate task, but they did a fantastic job, don’t they look great?

We also tried our hand at Decoupage, decorating tissue boxes, photo frames and trinket boxes. A relaxing activity enjoyed by all. 🎨🖌️

Hours: Bank to permanent position – full or part time available
Job Location: Cookham Dean, Berkshire
We are looking for a dedicated individual to support our ancillary department. The role is adaptable and will involve cover in our kitchen, laundry and housekeeping areas. The role is currently a bank position only however if successful this could become a permanent position.
