**PLEASE NOTE - DECEMBER'S PEER SUPPORT SESSION WILL BE HAPPENING SLIGHTLY EARLIER THIS MONTH - WEDNESDAY 10TH DECEMBER - SAME PLACE, SAME TIME**

This month's session will be a Stitching Metal themed session. Giving you the opportunity to get creative and crafty with sewing patches onto your chosen material (battle jacket, patch bag, patch trousers, etc.)

All you need to bring is; yourself, your patches, your material to sew onto and your needle and thread. I will bring spare sewing needles and thread, just in case.

Heavy Metal Therapy Coventry's peer support sessions are held at Just Dropped In, record store at Fargo Village, Far Gosford Street, Coventry. The session is FREE to all and lasts 1 hour from 6pm - 7pm. There is no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day.

Join us for a Mental Health Peer Support Session made by heavy metal fans, for heavy metal fans.

Whether you’re struggling, surviving, or just wish to connect with likeminded people — you're not alone.

What is a peer support group?

Our peer support groups are places where metal fans can get together to chat about music and mental health. They are not structured conversations but may focus on a topic or activity (like a playlist or doing crafts). Our groups are run by trained facilitators in peer support - they are not 'treatment' or mental health services, rather a chance to share experiences and discuss coping strategies. We have resources and signposting available at our groups.

Practicalities

Just turn up, no need to book. If you have any accessibility requirements or any questions, please contact us via the Heavy Metal Therapy Coventry insta account -

Please note that we do not allow alcohol to be consumed within the group setting.

Check out the Heavy Metal Therapy website for further details about our Peer Support groups at https://heavymetaltherapy.co.uk/be-reyt-peer-support-groups/

FAO AUTISTIC & ADHD INDIVIDUALS

Free Online Pilot – Understanding Minds ✨

Humber and North Yorkshire

Are you an autistic or ADHD adult, or a parent who wants to understand how your mind (and your child’s) really works?

I’m running a free online pilot programme called Understanding Minds — a relaxed, 4-week course helping adults explore their brain, emotions, and executive functioning.

These sessions are friendly, easy to follow, and can make such a difference to daily life, home routines, and relationships.
When adults gain this understanding, they often say it completely changes how they support their children, too.

Learn more or book your place here:

Please share with parents, teachers, or anyone waiting for an ADHD or autism assessment. 💙

"Providing non-clinical, community-based support, in the evening when most other options are closed, the Safe Haven Coventry and Warwickshire service provides crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support for those experiencing mental health distress.

With a variety of ways to access this support – by phone, email, text, video call – our emphasis is on face-to-face support through one-to-one or peer group activities.

The service will provide three open-access community venues, available seven evenings a week, across Coventry and Warwickshire

Our team will support people to ‘take back control’. This can mean helping to develop personal resources and self-management strategies, and building resilience by offering peer-engagement, volunteering and co-production opportunities."

How are you feeling today? If you need to talk, we’re here. Safe Haven is open 6pm–11pm—no judgment, just support. Come and see us in person or reach out remotely.
