This is a great charity people.. embers sent a guy to work with refresher training in Jan and we're sending another in September... the mental health benefits of taking part and sense of putting back are immeasurable.. the testimonials say it all...

is an amazing charity that does amazing things for veterans... I'm proud to say 3 members of embers will be joining them on this circumnavigation of the UK carrying the flag. We are jumping on the to leg in May. If you are a veteran look these guys up and hive them a follow. 😁👍🏻👊🔥🌳

Those is why embers does what it does.. to try to grab these people at the edge... if you know someone or are someone at that point come and sit in the woods with us for a while.. it doesn't cost a penny and it may give you that tiny space to take a breath. ❤️

WARNING UPSETTING CONTENT RELATING TO SU***DE.

Paramedic Rebecca McLellan tragically died by su***de in November 2023 at the age of only 24.

As part of the inquest into her death,her final note has been publicly released.

It tells of her despair and inability to see a way through her struggles.

It literally breaks our hearts to see any 999 worker, but even one so young coming to the conclusion that leaving life is the only way to end suffering.

It makes us more resolute to provide quick effective assistance to members of the 999 services who are facing such battles in the name of those who couldn’t find a way through.

Rebecca’s note read:

“People can survive pretty much everything as long as they can see an end in sight”

“Unfortunately for me, I cannot. All I can do is wait for the inevitable fall again.”

“I miss the person I used to be. Unfortunately, that girl is long gone. I’ve been running this race for a little too long and now my legs are tired.

“I know there are those out there who love me, and to those people I thank you from the bottom of my heart”

“I love you all tremendously”.

“Please know that I tried”

“I really did.”

This is the unseen reality of the emergency services

We hope that Rebecca is at peace.

Whilst we are travelling around the UK on our Expedition we will be having ‘Mess Deck Mornings’ which are generously sponsored by . These events are an informal drop-in onboard our vessels where local veterans or veterans groups can come aboard for a cuppa (and possible 🍪)and a chat with our crews.
