We have returned from our wonderfully active holiday where we spent lots of time out and about, in the sea, walking, talking and connecting... 💗💗

This week the kids are like couch potatoes! All they want is screen time! 🍟

Ah now this is a beauty 😍

It is important that our children KNOW that they are loved.

Loved by Mum, Dad or whoever is their primary carer.

Loved by grandparents, aunties, uncles, friends...

But I think the most important type of love is self love ❤️

Let's teach our children to love themselves from as early an age as possible.

I'm glad we have had this affirmation to call upon over the last few days 😭

With close family moving away to live abroad, the kids have been faced with some BIG emotions.

Reminding them of this card let's them know it's ok to release all of those feelings 😭 And to also be happy for their cousins who are experiencing a great adventure 😍✈️

Affirmation for the day 🙏

It's hard sometimes for children to feel safe when things are changing all around them 😓

We have lots of things ending or beginning at the moment;

👦🏼 Finishing infants and going into juniors
👧🏼 September means final year of junior school
👫 Head teacher leaving
👫 Favourite teachers leaving
👫 Close family moving FAR away

With all that going on, this card reminds my children that although life moves quickly and people come and go they are always safe.

Safe and protected
Safe to be themselves
Safe to grow
Safe to love
Safe to let go

Our cards from today 🙌🏻

And so ensued a typical conversation with a 7 year old about which part of his body was the strongest...His feet! 🙄😂👏🏽

Working out who the helpers in our lives can be is a tough one for kids because we kind of just do stuff for them everyday, so it becomes expected.

Your not seen as 'helping' when you make breakfast or pack a lunch box...

This is just what Mum does...

After a quick run down of all the people who help my daughter during her day, Mum, Dad, teachers, Nan, Pops, friends...

She was starting to feel much more appreciative and happy to have so many helpers in her life 💞

Right!

The Summer Holidays are looming, schools are winding down, reports are being issued and Children have the opportunity to relax, enjoy and ....go crazy 😝

On the flip side of that Children are tired (so are parents💤💤), energy is low and despite Facebook being covered with pictures and posts of parents beaming with pride about their child's report...not everyone feels like it has been 'a good year'.

😥 Maybe your child feels like they aren't keeping up with their peers at school

😢 Perhaps your child has struggled with their friendships this year

😓 Maybe they struggle to make new friends

😢 Maybe your child gets anxious about trying new things

😪 Perhaps they are't sure how to deal with 'playground problems'

There could be many things your child has faced this year which has effected their confidence and belief in themselves 😭

We have devised a Summer Holiday Children's Affirmation Positivity Challenge to help;

I honestly see absolutely nothing wrong with a Dad kissing his daughter on the lips!!! As long as Harper is happy with it then what is the problem? It is an expression of David Beckham's love for her!

Are we in danger, as a society, of taking such expressions of love away from our children too soon? What impact does that have on the child?

I am a Mum of 3 who kisses all her children on the lips...2 boys and a girl and so does their Dad!

Is this really what people think or is this just exclusive to The Mirror readers???
