There has been an electrical fire at Beanland’s Nursing Home today. We want to reassure everyone that all residents are safe. We are working closely with emergency services and will do our very best to keep families and staff informed as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

This weeks activity photos!

Monday - we started the week with a Christmas Party and some entertainment which brought singing and dancing 💃 as well as celebrating a birthday 🎂

Tuesday - we had a visit from Little Blossoms nursery which brought lots of smiles! We did some colouring and listened to their wonderful performance. We then spent the afternoon with a bauble craft from Eatons Funeral Directors, we made some lovely baubles for our tree 🌲

Thursday - another birthday celebration 🎉 as well as some carol singing 🎶

Friday - we finished the week by wrapping Christmas presents and a trip to the garden centre this afternoon 🎅

Some photos from last weeks activities 😁

We had singers from Glusburn Primary School put on a wonderful show, celebrated a residents birthday, enjoyed hand massages and nail painting, welcomed Merlin the poodle, wrote some Christmas cards and enjoyed some puzzles and jigsaws 🧩😁

A massive thank you to everyone for joining us on Sunday for our 2025 Christmas Fair! It was wonderful to welcome everyone into our home 🎄

A big thank you to Skipton Baptist Church choir for the singing, Santa and his elf for handing out goodies, all the local businesses and families for amazing donations for the raffle and tombola, the chef for baking delicious cakes, all the staff for helping out and the residents and families for joining us 🎄

Last weeks activity update 🎄

Monday - we started the day with opening our advent calendars and then did some armchair exercises in the afternoon

Tuesday - we did some prep for our Christmas Fair! With some teamwork we got all the tombola labelled up!

Wednesday - we took a walk into Crosshills to collect some donations, and then we spent the afternoon making a garland..we enjoyed the smells and textures and think it looks lovely hung up at the entrance 🌲

Thursday - we welcomed Glusburn Choir who put on a wonderful performance for us! It was lovely and Christmassy, they did a great job singing.

Friday - we took a trip to Woodbank to see all the Christmas decorations, it was a very festive morning. We then spent the afternoon playing domino’s

Christmas Fair today, 1-3pm 🎄🎄 come down for music, tombola, raffle, Santa visit and Christmas fun! Everyone welcome 😁

We have been busy this week preparing for our Christmas Fair, this Sunday 7th December 1-3pm, here at Beanlands 🎄

A big thank you to all our families who have donated to the tombola and raffle! We have had some great donations from local businesses including, Macaulay & Co, Thornton in Crosshills, Leightons Estate Agents, Aire Valley Kitchen & Bathrooms, 22 at the Square, Wilman & Lodge, Coop & Morrisons.

Raffle Tickets are on sale now, available from , £1 per strip 🎟️🎟️

We are preparing for our Christmas Fair, on Sunday 7th December 1-3pm… join us for carol singing, hot chocolate, mulled wine, cakes, mince pies, Santa Claus and more!

Weekly Activity Update 💃

Monday - both staff and residents enjoyed a sing and dance when we welcomed some wonderful performers to Beanlands!

Tuesday - we did some nail painting for residents as well as an afternoon domino’s game 🎲

Wednesday - as Christmas is coming, we decorated another tree! This time it was in the dining room, and it looks very festive!

Friday - we welcomed pupils from Glusburn Primary School to do some bulb planting with us. We all enjoyed planting daffodils and a bulb lasagne with tulips and other flowers 🌷

Weekly Activity Update 🎄

Monday - we spent some time doing some armchair exercises, balloon tennis and bowling.. all great ways to encourage us to keep fit and moving!

Tuesday - we observed a minutes silence for Remembrance Day, reflecting on family members and individuals who served in the armed forces.

Wednesday - the vicar joined us for a remembrance service and the afternoon was spent doing leisurely activities such as painting and jigsaws 🧩

Thursday - To recognise World Kindness Day, residents chose from our ‘random acts of kindness jar’ as a way to spread kindness.. we also shared some treats and kind messages with staff too! It was also a residents birthday so we shared a song and some cake 🎂

Friday - We started to decorate for Christmas! Our first tree is now up.. it took a while to untangle the lights but we spent the day decorating the tree and sorting out all the decorations 🎄 we also started to collect for our Teddy tombola… one of the teddy’s took a place at reception 😅

Saturday - another birthday was celebrated at Beanlands 😁🎂

Sunday - we enjoyed company & cake at our coffee morning this morning and then took a trip to Glusburn Institute for the Christmas Fair in the afternoon 🎅
