Men B Vaccination Update
Currently, university-aged individuals have not received the Men B vaccine, although many may have been vaccinated against Men ACWY. The strain identified in Kent is Men B.
We are awaiting further guidance from NHS England, as existing supplies of the Men B vaccine are currently being prioritised for use in Kent. This is a localised outbreak, and the risk to individuals outside of this area remains low.
We will provide updates as soon as additional guidance becomes available. In the meantime, anyone with concerns is encouraged to consult the NHS guidance on meningitis.
