Our very own Dave (SPLW) and Roger (H&WBC) popped down to talk all about men's health this morning alongside The Eccleston Shed!

This was an opportunity to engage with the local community and spread the word about the services and support available, particularly to men within the Leyland PCN area, which covers The Village Surgeries Croston & Eccleston.
Both Roger and Dave presented their roles and how they can help and support people within the local community.

A successful, engaging and informative morning for all concerned.

🌈TOTAL TRIAGE 🌈

The Village Surgeries will be moving to a Total Triage system from Tuesday 5th May.
All patients’ requests for appointments with GPs/ANPS will be triaged by a clinician and booked based on urgency 🧐. This will ensure the patients get the most appropriate care. 🥰
We hope this will improve efficiency, reduce wait times and prioritise urgent cases.
The form will be available between 7am and 6.30pm every day. You will be able to access the form through the website and via the NHS app. You will also be able to request a copy of the form through the phone lines ☎️☎️or visit the surgery in person to complete the form.

As from Monday 27th April the prescription line will now be open 9.30am - 3pm, Monday - Friday.

Both surgeries will be closed tomorrow afternoon on Tuesday 21st April from 13:00pm for staff training.
For any urgent medical advice or needs, please contact 111 or please attend the urgent care centre.
The surgery will re open on Wednesday 22nd April at 8am

Missed Appointments

During the month of March, 125 appointments were not attended at The Village Surgeries.

Each missed appointment represents valuable clinical time that could have been offered to another patient in need of care. These unattended slots result in a significant loss of time for our healthcare team and can contribute to longer waiting times for everyone.

We kindly ask all patients to:

Attend their scheduled appointments, or
Inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, so the appointment can be offered to someone else.

Your cooperation helps us provide the best possible service to all patients.

Our Spring Newsletter is now available! We encourage you to take a few minutes to read it and stay up to date with the latest news, health advice, and updates from the practice.
We would like to inform you of an important change to how we manage appointments:
📅 From Tuesday 5th May, we will be moving to a Total Triage system.
This means all patient requests will be assessed first, allowing us to:
✅ Direct you to the most appropriate care
✅ Prioritise urgent needs more effectively
✅ Help reduce waiting times
✅ Ensure you are seen or supported as quickly as possible

We understand this is a change, and our team will be on hand to support patients through the transition and answer any questions you may have.

Groups are informal, parent-led and professionally supported, offering a safe and welcoming space to:
• Connect with other parents and carers
• Share experiences
• Access practical advice and support

Supporting families navigate challenges around children’s wellbeing, mental health, and additional needs. Some sessions are SEND-focused, but all parents and carers are welcome.

✨ Friendly, supportive environment
✨ 1-to-1 conversations available before attending if preferred
