🧘‍♀️ Let’s Talk About Stress... (Yes, There’s a “Good” Kind Too!) 🧘‍♂️

Stress - it’s something we all experience, but have you ever stopped to think about how it really affects you?

👉 Does it show up as tension in your shoulders?

👉 Do you struggle to switch off at night and get proper sleep?

👉 Or maybe it leaves you feeling mentally drained and emotionally exhausted?

But here’s the thing - not all stress is bad! There’s something called ‘eustress’ (or “good stress”), which helps keep you motivated, focused, and moving forward. Think about that excitement before a big presentation or the adrenaline that pushes you through a challenge - that’s eustress at work!

The problem starts when stress becomes chronic and overwhelming, leaving you feeling anxious, wired, or completely exhausted.

I am so lucky. 🥰 I certainly felt loved and appreciated on Sunday when Gary and I were taken out by our Frankie and Bex for a lovely lunch and a stroll around Crystal Palace, the place where I grew up and spent so much of my teens and 20’s. It felt very nostalgic and brought back a lot of happy memories from dancing at the CPH at the weekend, and remembering how at 16 I had to remember my date of birth wasn’t 1961 it was 1959 so they would let me in 😂 to my Hen Do in the Cambridge pub where my naughty sister in law got me a stripagram which I was so embarrassed about and sat on my mum’s lap asking her to help me! 😂

Unfortunately our Sonny wasn’t able to be with us as he was travelling back from Miami, he hadn’t forgotten though, card and beautiful flowers were delivered on time - what a special day it was, making memories with my loved ones 💖💖💖

The Sleep 😴 Stress 😰 Connection

Do you feel like your sleep and stress are caught in a never-ending cycle?

We often focus on sleep hygiene, in other words the things you do habitually before you go to sleep.

Now I’m not saying they don’t matter, because they absolutely do, but what we do throughout the day is just as important. Instead of stressing about those 7-9 hours that we keep being told is what we optimally need, remember that our sleep needs are as unique as our bodies. 

Here are 5 daily stress-busters to keep cortisol in check and pave the way for a peaceful night:

1. Mini Mindfulness Breaks: Take a 5-minute pause every couple of hours, maybe listen to a guided meditation.


2. Gentle Movement: A brisk walk or stretching can help reset your mood.


3. Deep Breathing: Simple exercises can dial down your stress levels.


4. Expressive Journaling: Offload your thoughts to clear mental space.


5. Connect Authentically: Chat with a friend or loved one to share your day.


Remember, focusing only on winding down before bed can reignite your stress. Think of your day like a pressure cooker - releasing small amounts of steam throughout keeps everything balanced. 💜

Specialising in women’s hormonal health such as Peri/Menopause, which may also include Hot Flushes & Nightsweats, Weightloss, Insomnia, Mood Swings, Anxiety and Self Confidence.

I have been a practicing Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and Life Coach for the last 10 years, but felt I needed to take a further step into the Nutrition and Healthcare side of things to be able to help my clients get an even better result.

So, after qualifying as a Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and studying Advanced Hormone Healthcare I am now able to offer a complete 6 month program, not just on a 1-2-1 basis but also providing an online 6 month Group Coaching Program to help you get your MOJO back and start living the life you want and deserve.
