The title suggests something about making best use of your skills. Yes, of course you should, but that’s not what this title about. It’s also not about using or being with something while you have it available to you. Like a parent. Or your knees. You’ll miss both of these then they’re gone ...

It is a sunny day so I’m writing outside in my garden. And I have to acknowledge my immense gratitude for having an outdoor space. While it needs a lot of work, we’ve got a place to stretch a little further than our four walls. I know this is not the same for so many people in these tough times....

In times of change it can be easy to remember the most important thing - you. Continuous learning by book, online training or a TV documentary keeps the brain stimulated which, in turn, keeps you motivated, energised and stimulated.

I may be showing my age a little with this but, as I’ve said about positivity, there is much power in music that inspires and lifts.

This song typifies the moment. This is a moment of global significance that won’t be forgotten in a hurry.

With that I give you ‘All Around The World’ by Oasis.

All around the world
You've gotta spread the word
Tell 'em what you heard
You're gonna make a better day
And all around the world
You've gotta spread the word
Tell 'em what you heard
You know it's gonna be okay

It is gonna be okay!

Enjoy (and tell the world to do the same)

Two points here:
1. We can all get a bit trapped in a self-defeating routine where we inadvertently detach from our goals and desires.
2. Look around and check out how those nearby are feeling. Acknowledge. Listen. Stay aware. Your input may seem small yet could mean the world. withoutlimit.co.uk

Speaking out in the work place can be difficult - especially in times of struggle or when colleagues or managers suffer closed egos. A few tips in my latest blog 'Keep It To Yourself'.

Problems problems problems. Have you ever heard a line manager say something like ‘don’t bring me problems, bring me solutions’? Taking this to a personal level, amongst all the noise, finding the solution can be quite hard. Perhaps it needs a bit of a brainstorm? Brainstorming is sometimes a ...

We can work for the biggest companies and have all the camaraderie and collaboration yet still feel alone. Make time for proper conversations about things of meaning and of the soul. It could mean the world to the person you are talking to.

Box Breathe

A few minutes before you start follow this box breathing pattern....
Breathe in through the nose for 4
Hold for 4
Breathe out trhrough the mouth for 4
Hold for 4...repeat for a minute or two.

Box breathing is a technique Navy Seals use. It enables your brain and body to calm. You think clearly. With clarity.

Now go nail that event!

Have a most excellent day y'all.

A thought provoking article on research into procratination. As a graduate of procrastination there's some insight for me and doubtless millions of others in here.

A few points I've found on pracrastination are:

1. The right tools make all the difference.
If a work task is difficult due to lack of tools we may favour an easier task or delay getting started. Trying to fell and small tree with a hand saw takes more time and is harder than a chain saw.
2. We will head towards what is more fun to lift our mood.
Often this can be related to training. If a person doesn't know how to do something. By feeling capable people are more inspired to tackle something.
3. Do you get satisfaction from the task?
If there isn't a level of satisfaction a person is only doing something because they have to. A great workplace, inspiring colleagues, unlimited holiday, guaranteed training days per year (to learn something you want to learn be that excel or pottery), decent coffee are all things that might increase desire to get work done.

Why you (or why do you believe others) procrastinate?

Address the real reasons you procrastinate and you’re more likely to start achieving your goals.

Fear. It’s a weird thing. Where does it come from? Why do we feel fear? And why do some people feel it more than others? To some, fear can be paralysing. For so
