Join me and to talk about our experiences in maternity
and why many healthcare practitioners don’t always speak up against practices in the system.

🎙 Live tonight at 8PM — Two Doulas, Two Perspectives!! 🙌

We’ll be chatting about:

✨ What it’s really like behind the scenes in maternity care
✨The good girl narrative from perspective of woman and midwife
✨ The shift from hospital-based to holistic support
✨ How doulas and midwives can work with (not against) each other
✨ Why it can appear midwives are against you rather than supporting you

Whether you’re an expectant mum, birth worker, or just curious about the realities of maternity care , you won’t want to miss this one.

📅 Set your reminder now and join us live at 8PM for an honest, heart-centred chat 💕

Free birth is most definitely not illegal here in the UK. Women have the right to choose where they give birth and whom they have present. Birth rights state ‘that it is completely legal to birth unassisted, and that you do not have to accept any medical or midwifery care or treatment during childbirth. No one can make you accept care, unless you lack capacity to make decisions for yourself’If your planning on having a free birth, kindly inform the maternity staff if your registered with them ( if your having a wild pregnancy that’s different) Inform them of the law and what your plans for birth are. That way it gets them off your back and you are less likely to receive a referral to social services. Yes unfortunately it does happen 😫Usually by un informed fearful individuals that simply don’t know what the law is 👀I have an amazing template letter for free birth written by Nickita stark and Angela chamberlain that can be sent to the head of midwifery ahead of time. I have supported several free births in the last couple of years and there are a couple of different ways to go about registering the birth after. You can call the midwives within 6 hours of birth so they can come and check you both and log the birth on the system. If you haven’t called them you can email CHIS (child health information services) within 36 hours. Here is a link for the process:https://www.england.nhs.uk/long-read/your-guide-to-birth-notification-after-an-unassisted-birth/Your body, your baby and your birth so you do you, and birth your way!!! Go boss your birth! You got this girl 🙌🙌💖💖If you would like to have a 1-1 with me to discuss anything regarding free birth, or anything else pregnancy, birth and beyond, get in touch via my website:Loucinabirthkeeping.co.uk

Love, trust and intuition was all that was needed here ❤️She had a gorgeous home birth despite what the hospital staff and guidance had told her 🙌She knew what was best for her and her baby 👌Water birth can have several benefits for both the mother and baby, including pain relief, a shorter labor, and a gentler transition into the world. Benefits for the mother: 💖 Pain relief: The warm water can help you relax and produce endorphins, which can ease pain. 💖 Shorter labour: The water can help you move more freely and try different positions, which can speed up labour. 💖 Reduced risk of tearing: The water can help the tissues in your perineum stretch and relax, which can reduce the risk of severe tearing. 💖 Less need for pain medication: Some studies show that women who labor in water may need less pain medication. 💖 Sense of control: The water can make you feel more in control and able to move around. Benefits for the baby: 💖 Gentle transition: The water can provide a gentler transition from the womb to the outside world. 💖 Calming effect: Holding your baby against your skin after birth can calm them and help them breathe. 💦 Hire is for 6 weeks from 36 weeks of pregnancy💦Can deliver free of charge up to 10 miles 💦Affordable price 💦Comes in a sturdy suitcase to prevent damage Visit loucinabirthkeeping.co.uk for contact details.Email, text or call to hire.

I’ve been making these for years, even before I became a midwife or Birthkeeper! But lately I’ve been giving them to clients as postnatal gift.
Just a cute little something made with so much love ❤️
People say I should put them on Etsy.. perhaps I will?

The nappy cake has, yes you guess it! Nappies in! 😆, socks, muslin sheets, blankets, mittens, hats, anything I fancy throwing in really!

And the sock cupcake cake is made entirely with 5 pairs of newborn socks folded neatly into a cupcake shape 😀 a gem added to the middle and a little butterfly as a finishing touch.

Can’t wait to meet my new client! I get to nurture, support and love this family for the next couple of weeks 🙌

Check out my website for details on my postnatal services. I would love to hear from you!

Whether you just want additional support with your little one, someone to talk to or listen to your birth story and help you to feel heard, a little help around the house, someone to make nourishing meals, or breastfeeding support, I am here for you ❤️
