Some big news to share!

Peer support for men in Brampton is changing. Mentalk Brampton has now closed, in preparation for the next exciting chapter to begin.

From Monday 13th October Andys Man Club will be opening a new group in Brampton. Like all AMC groups it will run every Monday between 7pm and 9pm, based at The Coffee Lounge on Townfoot industrial estate.

Come and meet the team behind the new group tomorrow (Monday 25th August) between 1030 and 1530 at the Brampton Community Centre summer fair.

Of all the issues men face, this one can be particularly hard to come to terms with and seek help for. It might surprise you to know that almost 1/3 of domestic violence victims in England and Wales are men, and that in the year to March 2024 over 700,000 men (3% of the population) we're estimated to have been victims.

If this is something that affects you, or someone you know, you can access free and confidential help on 03003030157. It is also something we can support you with at Mentalk Brampton (our next meeting is at 7pm on Tuesday 8th July, at Brampton Community Centre

Su***de disproportionately affects men, and we are far less likely to seek professional help for our mental health than women. But talking to someone who has had similar experiences to your own can be incredibly helpful.
If you've got something on your mind, if you want to 'shoot the breeze', or if you just want to listen and get a feel for things, come along to the art room in Brampton Community Centre at 7pm on Tuesday 24th June. If nothing else, you'll get a hot drink and a biscuit or two.

There are also local groups for men (like Mentalk Brampton, Offload and Andys Man Club Carlisle) and women (like Gina's Women's Club, Gateway for Women and The Happy Mums Foundation). You don't have to fight your battles alone.
