A Major Milestone for Care Matters! 🎉

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Care Matters is now registered to provide TDDI (Treatment of Disease, Disorder and Injury) for adults aged 18+, a huge achievement for our organisation and a significant step forward in the care we provide.

This registration means we’re authorised to deliver specialist and complex clinical care in people’s own homes, supporting individuals with more advanced health needs safely, professionally, and compassionately.

It perfectly complements and strengthens our existing complex care services.
This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to high standards, clinical excellence, and person-centred care, helping people live well and independently at home, even with complex conditions.

👉 Stay tuned to learn more about what TDDI means and how it benefits our clients in future posts.

Why Jess’s Rule Matters to Our Clients💜🩷

Jess’s Rule reinforces the importance of listening to patients and taking repeated or worsening symptoms seriously. It requires GP teams to re-evaluate a diagnosis if someone presents three times with the same or escalating concerns.

For many of our clients, particularly older adults or those with complex health needs, symptoms can change gradually and may not always be easy to explain.

At Care Matters, our carers play a vital role in noticing changes, raising concerns, and supporting clients to seek further medical advice when something doesn’t feel right.

This rule supports what we believe in every day:

- Listening to patients
- Taking concerns seriously
- Acting early to keep people safe

By working closely with families and healthcare professionals, we help ensure our clients feel heard, supported, and protected.

NHS England has reported a rise in flu, Covid, and norovirus cases following the festive period, with hospitals under increasing pressure as cold weather continues.

This highlights just how important prevention, vaccination, and early support are, especially for older adults and those with underlying health conditions.

At Care Matters, we continue to support our clients through the winter months by monitoring wellbeing, encouraging flu vaccinations where eligible, and helping reduce risks at home during cold and icy conditions.

About Care Matters

Family Run and Local Care Provider

We are a family run local care provider and specialists in offering care-at-home services in the North East of England.

Care Matters was formed after owners Phil and (his wife) Nic, experienced first-hand how standards of care for loved ones differed dramatically from care provider to care provider. So the idea to start Care Matters was born from the passionate belief that we could do much, much better! Our wide range of care at home services are completely tailored to each individual and are fully flexible. The staff at Care Matters have many years of experience, care, and compassion within the Care sector, and strive to continue these high standards within the community. We would expect your loved ones to be as well looked after and respected as much as we would expect our own loved ones to be treat, with kindness and dignity.

Being a friendly and family run North East based care company, you can be assured that our experienced local staff can help support you, whether this involves helping at home with general care tasks, to more complex specialist support such as those requiring clinical care from one of our dedicated health professionals.
