At Care Matters, we know that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest impact. That’s why we take the time to truly connect because no one should ever feel alone.

Heart attacks don’t always look the way people expect. While chest pain is a common symptom, there are many other warning signs that can often be missed.

Knowing the signs and acting quickly can save lives. If you or someone else may be having a heart attack, call emergency services immediately.

At Care Matters, our carers are trained to recognise changes in a client’s health and wellbeing, helping ensure the right support is provided when it matters most. 💜🩷

Today we celebrate all the incredible women who take on the role of a mother.

Whether you’re a mum, step-mum, grandmother, adoptive mum, foster mum, or a mother figure who offers love, guidance and support...today is for you.

Motherhood comes in many forms, but the care, strength and compassion behind it is always the same.

Act FAST – Knowing the Signs of a Stroke Can Save a Life

A stroke is a medical emergency, and acting quickly can make a huge difference to someone’s recovery. That’s why it’s important to remember the FAST signs:

F – Face: Has the face drooped on one side?
A – Arms: Can they lift both arms and keep them raised?
S – Speech: Is their speech slurred or difficult to understand?
T – Time: If you notice any of these signs, call emergency services immediately.

The faster someone receives treatment, the better their chances of recovery and reducing long-term effects.

At Care Matters, our carers are trained to recognise changes in a client’s health and wellbeing. Knowing the signs of a stroke and acting quickly is part of how we help keep the people we support safe every day. 💜🩷

Care News: NHS urges patients to “Tap the App”

The NHS is encouraging people to use the NHS App after figures showed around 1 in 4 people miss appointments because they forget or arrive too late. Missed appointments can delay care and reduce availability for other patients.

By enabling push notifications, the NHS App can send reminders about upcoming appointments and allow patients to quickly cancel or rearrange if needed.

For many of the people supported by Care Matters, digital tools like this can make it easier to manage GP appointments, prescriptions and healthcare from home.

About Care Matters

Family Run and Local Care Provider

We are a family run local care provider and specialists in offering care-at-home services in the North East of England.

Care Matters was formed after owners Phil and (his wife) Nic, experienced first-hand how standards of care for loved ones differed dramatically from care provider to care provider. So the idea to start Care Matters was born from the passionate belief that we could do much, much better! Our wide range of care at home services are completely tailored to each individual and are fully flexible. The staff at Care Matters have many years of experience, care, and compassion within the Care sector, and strive to continue these high standards within the community. We would expect your loved ones to be as well looked after and respected as much as we would expect our own loved ones to be treat, with kindness and dignity.

Being a friendly and family run North East based care company, you can be assured that our experienced local staff can help support you, whether this involves helping at home with general care tasks, to more complex specialist support such as those requiring clinical care from one of our dedicated health professionals.
