Alcohol Drinkers Lose An Average of up to 14 Years of Life.

That’s not a headline - it’s a wake-up call.

Most people assume alcohol only becomes a problem at the extremes.
But research keeps showing something uncomfortable:

🔸 Regular, “normal” drinking quietly chips away at your health.
🔸 It increases the risk of cancers, heart disease, liver disease, and cognitive decline.
🔸 And the average drinker may lose up to 14 years of healthy life as a result.

What makes this even more challenging is that drinking is socially rewarded.

🪯 AFS Honoured by Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple, Dubai 🇦🇪

During our recent visit earlier this year, the Gurdwara recognised the Alcohol Free Sikhs health initiatives as a meaningful contribution towards enhancing community health and wellbeing. 🙏

We were humbled to receive a gold plaque, beautifully presented in a leather case, in recognition of our seva — a heartfelt reminder of the power of community, compassion, and collective action. 💛

This honour reinforces our shared commitment to building stronger, alcohol-free Sikh communities grounded in seva, respect, and holistic wellbeing. 🧘‍♀️
