I watched Dirty Business on Channel 4 last night.

As a lover of the sea, this investigative drama based on real facts and data was truly horrifying.

I was so outraged by all the corruption, the lies and cover ups by the privatised water companies, the so-called Environment Agency and the total disregard for human life as a consequence.

I don’t normally write posts like this but if you haven’t seen it, please watch it.
The tireless work of all the people who campaign for transparency and clean water is inspiring.

We need to get behind them all. 🩵

Channel 4 Dirty Business

I have had THE best time on the stunning Island of Mull this last week. A really thoughtful surprise gift from .macken.5 of a swimming retreat in the Hebrides. It needed to fulfil 3 criteria apparently: train travel, Scotland and the sea 🌊. It over delivered 💙

We spent the week with just the loveliest group, embracing the cold water twice a day under the watchful eye of whose warmth and enthusiasm was so evident and so genuine. We dipped, we laughed A LOT, we ate the most amazing meals cooked by the ever smiling Anna, visited a local weavers, did yoga by an open wood fire, visited Iona and Fingals Cave and saw hundreds of penguins 🐧 on the island of Lunga.
It was an unforgettable experience on so many levels.
I’ll be back for sure.

Thank you so very much for the most amazing dip and chill retreat 🙏🏻💙. We were all sorry to be leaving 🥲

Today was all about working with soothing oil 💛

Working along tense erector spinae muscles, getting deep into the neck, and freeing tight fascia in tired feet and legs.

I lit a candle, grabbed a bolster and took some much needed time to bring my body back into balance 🙏🏻

My week of study has been everything I wanted it to be 🙏🏻🙏🏻.

I am enormously grateful to for so generouly sharing his knowledge and passion for Thai Massage and Ayurveda throughout our Field Study course. I have learned such a lot from you - thank you Suriyan 🙏🏻.

I loved meeting the wonderful villagers who came every morning to us with real issues and allowed us to work on them. They came with pain and left feeling lighter 🥰. They were the sweetest, warmest people ❤️.

Thank you to Sunshine Massage school in Chiang Mai - what a lovely peaceful vibe you have there. I’m going to miss hopping on a Grab bike and flying across from the old town in the early morning to the school. That was quite an experience and I loved it 🏍️.

I’m so happy I got to share this week with fellow Scorpio ; riding in the back of Yan’s truck, talking star signs and all things Thai Massage and getting to know each other over countless Longan fruit 😘🤣. Enjoy the rest of your travels Lisa and keep in touch 🙏🏻.

I also managed to squeeze in a wonderful massage one evening after class with Mr Nat at Supattra Blind Massage. My shoulders were incredibly grateful 🥴 and the back and neck cracking were an added surprise 👏🏽.

To top the week, I was fortunate enough to book an evening study session with the great Master of Therapeutic Massage, Ajarn Sinchai Sukparset. What a humble, patient and lovely man. I am so thrilled I’ve been able to meet him and take away a fraction of his knowledge 🙏🏻.

The week has flown by and now it is time to move on but I have loved it all. ❤️

After studying and practising Thai Massage, I have had a real longing to return to Thailand where I first went backpacking in the late 1980s.

Here I am, 35 years later experiencing the beauty of Wat Pho once again. This time, I was lucky enough to have THE most amazing massage at the pavilion here.
Tomorrow, we take the overnight train to Chiang Mai where I’m going to study for a week and then on to explore the northern region of this wonderful country, something I didn’t get the opportunity to do all those years ago 🙏🏻

A lovely visitor to South Devon came for a massage recently and when the treatment had finished, she said ‘This should be available on the NHS’. That made me smile, but it reaffirmed how deeply beneficial this work is and how gratefully our bodies receive it 🙏🏻.

What an amazing morning at Bantham with and lovely friends. Totally out of my comfort zone, but trying something new with landscape painting using acrylics.

I won’t be swapping careers anytime soon 🤣 but I loved sitting in the sun on the beach creating amongst friends and just being happy enough with the result.

The most beautiful Riad where nothing was too much trouble 🙏🏻, fascinating souks, amazing food, beautiful architecture and design and lovely welcoming people 🙏🏻.

Yesterday we said goodbye to our beautiful Brodie 💔. It is flat and empty here without him lying in every doorway. He was a gorgeous boy; nutty, barky, fragile and sensitive but he was his own little character and we adored him.
He made the journey down here to Devon with us and loved it - new friends, new walks and daily trips to the beach for coffee, barking all the while.
It won’t be the same without you Brodie 💔.
