⭐️ SLIMMER OF THE YEAR 2024… Sam from Spondon! ⭐️ Having various challenges in different areas of her life has made Sam step up this year and prioritise the one thing she can control, her eating habits! Sam’s lost over 4 stone this year thanks to various hacks, the main being recording her food and drink intake. We started the year with financial limitations, and my advice was simple, eat whatever, just make sure there was some sort of protein in every meal. Sam enjoyed a balanced diet with her daughter B, including lots of good value healthy protein items such as eggs, cottage cheese, tinned tuna, milk, yogurt, chicken, mince, beans, peas, lentils and protein shakes. At the beginning it was tough, as we talked every week in our coaching calls and reviewed her food diary, we added frozen and canned vegetables where we could to keep her gut healthy, and we had a steady weight loss of a lb every week or two. Then as the summer came around and budgets improved we stepped up the protein intake, fresh vegetables and lowered the processed carbohydrates. The weight loss increased to 1 to 2 lbs every single week. Sam is not a huge exercise fan, but was more than happy to get some extra steps in everyday, just making sure she did at least around 5,000 steps on a daily basis. Another area of health Sam improved on was her sleep. Again following her daughter’s lead helped Sam get to bed before 10pm. Sam enjoyed a few holidays and weekends away towards the end of the year, and ate and drink what she wanted, but got straight back on plan after her time away. Sam basically lived by the 80/20 rule, 80% of the time eating nutritious foods that made her feel good, and the other times ate what she fancied, usually at weekends or when she went out with her mummies and babies gang. I’ve been coaching Sam for a number of years now and I am just so pleased these challenges came to her as it made her realise what is important in her life, and that is living an active and healthy lifestyle with her daughter. My hat goes off to Sam as I’d like you to all congratulate her on her magnificent achievements this year.
