A huge well done from all of us at Phoenix, and a big thank you to Torsion Construction for the recognition.

Here’s what Project Manager Ben Moakes had to say:
“Well done again for keeping up the high standards we have come to expect from Phoenix, and my thanks for striving to make the site the best and safest it can be.”

On Saturday 5th July, took on the challenge of hiking Mam Tor – and what a day it was!

Starting in Hope, the team made their way through Castleton before heading up to the summit of Mam Tor, covering an impressive 8.3 miles with 1,642 feet of elevation.

Joined by a few four-legged friends, the team showed great spirit and teamwork throughout the hike – finishing the day with a well-deserved late lunch to celebrate the achievement.

A brilliant effort from everyone involved and a great way to enjoy the outdoors together!

Work is now underway at Sweet Street in Leeds, where Phoenix Brickwork and BMH Scaffolding have begun delivering the masonry and scaffolding packages for Winvic Construction.

This marks the first phase of an exciting regeneration project that will transform a long-vacant site into a vibrant, mixed-use community. As part of this phase, we’re supporting the delivery of a 450-unit build-to-rent scheme, which will include one, two, and three-bedroom homes, alongside a gym, residents’ lounges, co-working spaces, roof terraces, and green spaces.

All apartments will meet EPC B or above, featuring renewable energy sources, efficient heating and lighting systems, and smart in-home technology to support low-carbon living.

This is just the beginning — with the wider regeneration set to deliver over 1,350 build-to-rent homes and 150,000 sq. ft. of commercial space by 2027.

We’re proud to be playing a part in shaping this landmark development in Leeds.

Last week at Hollis Croft in Sheffield, our Phoenix SFS Division had the opportunity to learn from the experts at NLG (Never Let Go) about the importance of tool tethering and best practices for working safely at height.

Following the session, we’re looking to introduce standardised tether packs across our sites and implement a clear policy that ensures:

- Only CE marked equipment is used
- An EU Certificate of Conformity is provided
- Safe Working Loads (SWL) are clearly identified

A big thank you to NLG for the insightful presentation and for helping us strengthen our safety standards even further.
