I recently supported Peter Attwood as we prepared the funeral service for his wife, Margaret. During my visits we got to know each other, and I’ve continued to check in on him since the service. Today he very kindly shared a review of his experience, and with his blessing I took a small selfie to mark the moment.

'We were pleased to meet Jane our Celebrant at my wife's funeral. She gave her a good send off, everyone there was very pleased with the service. I will definitely recommend her to anyone'
Peter Attwood.

Please show patience and respect if you see this cortege travelling from Clowne to Chesterfield Crematorium tomorrow 🙏 Thank you so much.

Tomorrow morning between 8:15am and 9:45am, Ashton-Lee’s horse-drawn funeral cortege will be travelling from Clowne to Chesterfield Crematorium via the A619.

There may be some delays along this route, so we kindly ask that you plan ahead or use alternative roads where possible.

If you do encounter the cortege, we would greatly appreciate your patience and respect, allowing us to ensure the safety and dignity of the family, our team, and the horses.

Thank you for your understanding.

Please feel free to share.

I spent some time at Chesterfield Crematorium this morning and was struck once again by how beautifully maintained the grounds are. The gardens looked stunning in the sunshine, and the benches, so carefully positioned, offer the perfect place to sit, breathe, and think about those we miss most.
We are very fortunate to have such a tranquil and respectful setting here in Chesterfield.

Whether its your first Christmas without a loved one or you've been missing them for years, entering the festive period can be deeply challenging. It's okay to not be okay.💔

The Empty Chair....

This year you’ll set the table
And leave an empty chair,
The place where I once sat with you,
With laughter in the air.

And though I’m not beside you now
As Christmastime draws near,
I’ll send my love in little signs
To show I’m still right here.

The snowflakes softly drifting
Are whispers sent by me,
And behind each gentle footprint
A part of mine will be.

When you look up at the night sky
Of stars that gleam so bright,
One shines with extra tenderness
To guide you through the night.

And if you see the robin
Who comes to visit you,
Please take it as a message
That my heart is with you too.

Sadly this is so heartbreakingly true 💔 Just lately we are having more and more drivers on the roads being impatient and trying to push in on the Funeral Cortège’s in between the Hearse and the Limousines with bereaved family members in, and even on funerals with our horses too.
This is happening to the point where accidents have nearly been caused because someone just wants to cut in or to cut through.
We appreciate we drive slower, but this is someone’s final journey, and this is done out of respect.
Whether this makes you 30 seconds, one minute or two minutes late for where you need to be, think about that person who has passed and the families that are following.
A final journey is so precious 🤍
