Life doesn’t always follow the "Expert" Roadmap.
When Jack was diagnosed with autism at five, we were handed a script full of "doom and gloom". We were told he’d struggle at school and that we shouldn't expect the usual milestones—even things as simple as a hug were questioned.
They were wrong.
At 20 years old, Jack has smashed every one of those expectations. He’s got his GCSEs, he passed his driving test first time, and he’s the most loving, well-mannered young man you’ll ever meet.
My third book, "Our Jack," is officially in the works for October 2026. It’s a story of defiance, hope, and the reality of the road ahead.
I want to include your voices.
If you are a parent or carer in our community and have a "win," a piece of advice, or a bit of that classic Derry banter to share, I’d love for you to be part of this project. I don't want to put anyone on the spot by asking directly, so I'm opening the door here.
