All stations, I am afraid I bring bad news, I have just been told via his son Sam, that Pat Slattery has crossed the bar from cancer. Another sad day.

Msg from Martin Finneron:

My Dad's David Finneron funeral will be at 1130 on Saturday 14th Jan, at Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin PL30 4AP. Dress code does not have to be dark, wear anything you are comfortable in, military or civilian. All that knew him and wish to pay your respects are welcome to attend.

Myself and my brother would like it if friends and family attending could bring cards, with stories, memories or pictures and words of how you remember Dad for the family to keep as mementos to read to our children and for ourselves.

The wake will then be held after at The Lopes Arms in Roborough, Plymouth PL6 7BD. Again all are welcome. If you could please confirm attendance to myself so I can work out food numbers for the venue it would be appreciated.

Parking at the wake venue is limited but there is plenty of parking in the surrounding roads before and after the pub. Thanks.

It is my sad duty to pass on this msg. Served with Finny in 42. Lovely guy, fantastic Bootneck and a massive shock to hear this! RIP my friend.

It's with a very heavy heart that unfortunately I'm announcing the passing of my Dad David Finneron after myself and my brother who were concerned for him having not heard from him and gained entry to his place. It was unexpected and a complete shock. A former Royal Marine who served in the Falklands, NI and the Gulf War. Life was never easy on you Dad and you made us all immensely proud. Although you were dealt a tough hand you helped make me and Tim the people we are today, and were a brilliant Grandad to Felix who unfortunately will have to grow up without you as will his cousins. Dad I'm gutted it had to go this way and we don't get a chance to say our goodbyes. See you at the re-org Dad. Love you ❤️

Just picked up from another site. That stalwart of the branch, Eddie McGuinness has crossed the bar. He was instrumental in setting up the Sigs website and we all owe him a great thank you for bringing us together. RIP.

Part of a msg received from Mark Marvin asking if any of us have the following info to help Claudia Jacques:

The reason I ask is that I’ve been sent an email by a lady called Claudia Jacques. She is asking if anybody knew her husband, Steve Jacques who was sigs Tp 42 Cdo. Apparently he died whilst in Norway in 1983. She is after any photos that guys may have of him that she could then pass on to his mother who is very Ill. Would you be able to put something on the page?
Regards Marv
