🌾 Hay Fever Tips
Sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny noses – classic hay fever!
✅ Wear sunglasses
✅ Keep windows closed during high pollen times
✅ Shower and change after being outside
✅ Antihistamines can help – speak to your GP or pharmacist

💧 Dehydration
Hot weather increases your risk. Keep your p*e pale yellow!

🚫 Missed Appointments in June – Please Help Us Help You 🚫

In June, 222 appointments were missed at North Road Suite — either adults not attending or children not being brought. That’s 55.3 hours of clinical time lost, which could have been used to care for other patients.

We understand that emergencies happen. But if you can’t attend, please cancel online or call us and press Option 2 to leave a message.

Every missed slot usually means another appointment must be made, adding strain to an already stretched NHS system.

Questions and Answers About Tirzepatide (Mounjaro)

Starting 23rd June 2025, some patients may be eligible for Mounjaro (tirzepatide) as part of the NHS weight management rollout. This medication could help with managing weight effectively.

👉 Please do not contact us at this time — we will be in touch directly with all eligible patients over the coming weeks.

📝 Who is eligible in the first year?
Mounjaro is currently available only for patients who meet ALL of the following:

✅ BMI of 40 or more (or 37.5 or more if you're from a South Asian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean background)
✅ Have at least 4 of these health conditions:

Type 2 diabetes

High blood pressure

Heart disease

Obstructive sleep apnoea

Abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia)

🚨 Or if urgent weight loss is required before critical surgery or treatment

Avian Flu Outbreak

We’re contacting you to inform you that there has been an avian flu, outbreak at non-commercial premises in Mirfield/Ravensthorpe.

We are working with Defra’s Animal Plant Health Agency (APHA) and UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the premises to monitor the situation and prevent further infections.



Registered bird keepers within the 3km control zone will be contacted along with residents and businesses so that any unregistered flocks can be identified.

‘Animal Disease Control Zone’ posters and road signs will be placed within the control zone.



The risk to public health is very low, but it is important that people do not touch or pick up any dead or visibly sick wild birds that they find.
