So incredibly proud of our amazing team this weekend during Storm Amy!!
Storm who…..?
Our amazing team have been battling “Amy” since Friday afternoon like superheroes 🦸 ensuring all our service users are safe, warm and fed, during some very challenging circumstances.
Huge thanks to every single member of the team who have battled the elements, whether by car or on foot, to ensure all our service users have a hot drink, hot meal, extra blanket, torch, and maybe a little bit of power on their phone, but most importantly, reassurance that we are here, out and about, despite the weather and conditions.
Huge shout out also to our dear service users who have also stepped up and supported friends and neighbours, special mention to Norma D in Strathpeffer for literally keeping the home fires burning by keeping both staff and fellow service users supplied with flasks of hot water, literally delivered to the door!! What a superstar!!
Also huge thanks to service users and family members who have managed their own support over the weekend, calling up to cancel visits to “save the carers coming out in this weather”, honestly, thank you so much, you have no idea how much this gesture is appreciated and how much it relieves the pressure in these circumstances 🤗
And to all the members of our local communities who literally pick up a chainsaw and go shift fallen trees and debris on the roads before most of us have even woken up, just thank you!!! you are absolutely amazing and have no idea how much it helps us carers out!!
Thankfully all power has now been restored in all our areas, and Storm Amy is now well and truly in the rear view mirror!
Looking forward to a hopefully calmer week next week, stay warm and safe all 🤗🤗🤗
