Setting intentions ✨

In around 99% of my classes, we begin by grounding and taking a moment to set an intention. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. It might be a word, a feeling, or simply asking yourself: “What do I need from the next hour?”

This can look different for everyone and can change from class to class. We all roll out our mats for different reasons and that’s what makes yoga so special. It really is for everybody.

As a teacher, I set my own intentions each class too. To support students in moving freely and safely in their bodies, to offer options and variations so everyone feels included, to encourage the use of props like blocks and bolsters, and to create a space that feels supportive, welcoming and non-judgemental.

But as a student, my intentions are often different. Sometimes it’s to slow down, sometimes to rebuild strength, sometimes just to breathe and have an hour to myself.

So I’ll ask you the same question…

If any of these thoughts have been quietly putting you off trying a yoga class, this is your reminder that they really don’t matter here.

You’re welcome exactly as you are.

✨ Being new, nervous or feeling awkward
Everyone starts somewhere. Walking into a class can feel intimidating, but you don’t need to fit in, keep up or prove anything. You belong the moment you arrive.

✨Touching your toes. I hear “I’m not flexible enough for yoga” all the time. Flexibility isn’t a requirement. You don’t need to be bendy, strong or experienced. Just come as you are and meet your body with your breath and a bit of curiosity.

✨ Comparing yourself to others - Everyone’s practice looks different because everyone’s life and body is different. There is no “behind” in yoga.

✨ Needing breaks or resting - Rest is not a failure. Child’s pose, sitting, lying down or stepping out entirely is always an option. Listening to your body is part of the practice.

✨Wobbling, shaking or losing balance - This is your body learning and adapting. Balance isn’t about never wobbling, it’s about noticing how you come back. And yes, you’ll often see me wobbling too.

✨ Having an off day mentally - You don’t need to arrive calm, focused or zen. You can come tired, frazzled, low or distracted. The mat can hold all of that.

✨Feeling uncoordinated - Left and right confusion happens. (TRUST ME I KNOW 🤣🫣🤭) Flow takes time. Smiling and carrying on counts.

✨Needing modifications or props - Blocks and bolster aren’t signs of weakness. They’re tools for support and can actually help you get into more advanced poses.

Today is supposedly Blue Monday.
And while it might not be scientifically proven, low mood and low energy days are very real. And they can happen on any day, not just today.

This is your reminder that rest is not something you earn. It is a priority.

I’ve put a list together for those days when energy feels low. Take what you need, leave the rest, and move through today with kindness rather than pressure.

My new obsession 😍

Yogis, you know I love sharing the occasional bake, and this one had to make the feed. The perfect little healthy pick-me-up (perhaps I need to make some for a post class treat? 🤔)

✨ Chocolate-covered dates ✨
(Don’t mock before you try… they’re honestly unreal 🤭)

I used Medjool dates because they’re naturally sweeter and softer – perfect if you’ve got a sweet tooth like me. Dates are rich in fibre, natural energy, and minerals like potassium, making them a great pre- or post-practice snack.

I coated them in dark chocolate, (I used the 85% one which is also dairy free and vegan) it is also high in antioxidants so a all around win win. Paired together, they give you a lovely balance of natural carbs, healthy fats, and a little plant-based protein to keep energy levels steady (no sugar crash here 🙌).

How to make:
• Pit the dates
• Melt dark chocolate
• Dip & coat
• Finish with a pinch of sea salt ✨

Simple, nourishing, and so satisfying. Perfect with a cuppa after class or as a mindful little treat 🤍🧘‍♀️

After nearly 3 weeks off for the festive period I am so ready to be back into routine. Classes are planned, new poses have been polished and I am so ready to be back on the mat with you all.

This months theme is a ‘January reset.’ Expect a slightly stronger flow, imtemtional movement, breathwork, grounding and more…

The last class of 2025!

You all smashed it! We had a fun, festive flow with lots of challenges along the way. I am forever thankful to have such a lovely bunch of people- your kindness and support never fails to amaze me! I am soo lucky to have you all. Have a wonderful Christmas and new year. Here’s to rolling out the mat in 2026!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 ✨

This evening was my Tuesday groups last class of the year and what a lovely lot you all are!

Thankyou for all of your continued support - I am so so so so so grateful (and will never stop saying it) for everything you do. Your dedication, smiles, happy faces and energy you all bring each week is just amazing.

This evening was festive, fun and a little chaotic (that’s what it’s all about, right?! 😅)

I cannot believe we have one week left of classes for 2025! What a craaaazy year it's been. I am so so so thankful to all my lovely, loyal clients who have shown up each week to stretch, breathe and flow together. Here's to rolling out our mat together in 2026! 🧘‍♀️
