Just a friendly reminder to anybody else taking certain medications in this heat if you’re out and about exercising be it walking, running, cycling etc or even just prolonged sitting out in the sun, please be aware that you’ll need to stay hydrated and get plenty of shade

Here’s a list of several known medications that put you at more risk being in the sunshine for various reasons some more serious than the others ❤️

-Anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or naproxen.
-Blood thinners which are used to prevent blood clots.
-Medications for high blood pressure.
-Various medications used to treat diabetes, including metformin.
- Some nerve pain medications such as pregabalin and gabapentin.
-Opioid pain medications such as morphine and codeine.
-Diuretics of any kind
-beta blockers
- decongestants
-Lithium for bipolar disorder.
- anti anxiety / anti depressants of any kind
And several more!

Stay safe
- Jimbam❤️

We had another fun exercise class full at Banham Village Community Hub yesterday, don’t forget if you want to pop along and do a bit of chair based work then it’s free just drop a message to Banham community hub or Peter and myself, also in the future I’ll be potentially looking at running another smaller class locally too so keep your eyes peeled☺️

I hate talking money if I had my way I would train everyone for free which as a business isn’t very good😂

I often do spend a lot longer with my clients making sure they’re confident and feel safe in doing what they’re doing, for example I had an elderly client lacking in confidence with certain things so I sat with them, reassured them and went over some of the things they should be proud of, which is all part of my mental health focussed approach to exercise and as a result I ended up there for over 2 hours having only charged for one, but I came away feeling that my client is confident in their own ability and with said client feeling thankful that I spent the extra time with them.

So for those wondering here’s my pricing for 2026, I’m also happy to work out payment plans and such too for those struggling.

Hey folks, something a little different exercise wise!

I’ve been asked by the council if any skaters scooters or bmx riders would like to enter the carnival procession and potentially also be on hand for an hour or two to help with some basic riding around the basketball court or MUGA (multi use gaming area) at the mere park and show some of the kids some basic skills, maybe have a game of foot down or something whilst also to showcase some of the work several of us and the council have been doing for the community.

If anybody is interested please let me know asap so I can inform the council and arrange something!

Cheers!

A lot of people don’t realise the costs associated with being a self employed personal trainer so here’s a bit of insight into the things that people like myself and a few things some other self employed people will also have to pay:

-Renting your space at a gym, varying from £150-£700 a month

-Business vehicle insurance for home visits

-Public liability insurance £80-£100 a year

-Fuel costs driving to and from client locations

-New equipment costs and damages,

-Last minute cancellations can cause monetary strain

-We don’t get paid for sick pay or get paid more for bank holidays and late shifts.

These are just some of the financial aspects, mentality wise here are some things self employed people go through too:

- That hour or so you spend with a coach isn’t all you’re paying for, we often take work home so we can be fully present with clients during that allotted time to keep it person centred

-We often have to adapt and improvise on the fly for example in the event of injuries or unseen/ undisclosed issues which can add complication with the more people with different fitness and skill levels in a session ensuring that everyone remains safe

-We don’t always have cover staff

-A decent personal trainer will curate an individualised plan rather than a one size fits all approach, again often taking work home to think about properly

-Coaching at unsociable hours often spending evenings or early mornings away from loved ones

It can be incredibly rewarding seeing people thrive that you have helped but at the same time it comes with a lot of financial risk and instability that isn’t for everyone.

Something else i've been up to on and off for the last year or so has been getting into photography and although I'm still a complete amateur i managed to shoot and edit this selection of photos from the skatepark reopening that im pretty pleased with!

Im planning to have some tuition on videography as well as photography in the near future so i can combine my love for adventure, exercise and the great outdoors and capture it through a lens!

feel free to tag yourselves :)

So what do i do when i’m not training?
I mean it’s still fitness but in an alternative fashion, riding bmx and mountain bikes!

Ive been volunteering with the community for a while now from the repair cafe, repairs to number 8 marketplace and now the most recent thing is that I’ve collaborated again with Diss town council and today the Mayor of Diss came to officially reopen the skatepark after it’s been refurbished!

I’ve got a load of photos to edit and post still so keep your eyes peeled ☺️

Got my camera out at Bootcamp Wednesday at MG Fitness Studio, I'm still getting to grips with it but there is so much more to learn!

If you fancy a bit of a challenge and fancy bootcamp its on for the next 9 Wednesdays at 6:30pm at Shelfanger on the green outside MG Fitness studio.

Or if you would like some person centered personal training, working along side you regardless of whatever fitness level you're at then feel free to drop Mick, Pete or myself a message and we will be more than happy to try and help! :)

BOOTCAMP IS BACK
Another year another bootcamp has begun at MG Fitness studio.

The spring bootcamp is on for 10 weeks and we’ve just finished week 1 so there’s plenty more to join,
so if you’re interested drop Mick a message! 💪🏻

It’s all becoming a bit real now!
As of the middle of this month I will be up and running taking clients for;

-Personal training at MG Fitness gym.
- Home visits for all ages i.e those too anxious to get in the gym.
- Alternative forms of exercise like cycling, walk and talks to increase your step count while chatting about life.
- mental health support on a 1 on 1 basis through messaging or in person with signposting to other mental health support groups
(being neurodiverse myself this has been a big help for me!)

And later in the year/ early next year I’m hoping to take on a couple more courses that will allow me to run some guided cycling groups both on road around the area and off road around some local woodlands trying to keep fitness and exercising versatile to keep it enjoyable!

I’m still very much on my health and wellbeing journey but by being open and transparent I’ve already managed to help several of you and I feel blessed to be trusted ❤️
