Be Well are putting out a survey aimed at women aged 18-40 around the Wellbeing Hubs, so they can ensure you feel relevant, welcoming and useful for younger women.

If you or anyone you know is registered at the Ransome Practice, we’d like to share some important information about changes to the way incoming telephone calls will be handled. 👇

📣PATIENT UPDATE

👤Meet Emma - our new virtual receptionist
We are excited to inform our patients of an important change to the way we handle incoming telephone calls to The Ransome Practice.

❓WHO IS EMMA?
Emma is our new intelligent phone system that will answer all incoming calls to the practice. She will guide you through a few simple steps and help you submit your request by filling out either our medical or admin triage form, providing requested information, taking detailed messages, or signposting you to the relevant service. She is private and secure.

❓HOW DOES EMMA WORK?
- Call as normal; Emma answers straightaway and asks a few quick questions so she can handle your call
- Emma will handle your query, including completing a Total Triage form, as per our current triage process
- Emma sends requests directly to the appropriate clinical team - she DOES NOT replace human staff, nor does she decide who is seen: clinicians still make all clinical decisions
- Our team is still here. EMMA helps them help you, which means more time for clinical work and faster admin.

❓HOW WILL EMMA BENEFIT YOU?
- ⏰No queues: Emma answers all calls simultaneously, meaning you will never have to wait on hold for your call to be answered
- 👏Fully accessible - Emma can fill out Total Triage forms on your behalf, request appointments, order prescriptions, provide requested information, and deal with other admin queries
- 🚀Quicker processing of requests - this frees up our clinical and administrative teams so they can focus more on delivering the support and care that our patients need
-🏃‍➡️ No 8am rush
- 🗣️Translation service - Emma speaks several languages, with additional languages being added soon

❓WHEN DOES EMMA START?
Emma will go live on Tuesday 24th February 2026 for a short period in the afternoon, gradually increasing in time over the next week.

Are you due or overdue your cervical smear? We’re making it easier than ever to get up to date with your screening!

The Health Bus will be alongside the hub, available from 09:30am – 4:30pm, so you can pop in at a time that suits you.

We’ll be joined by:

✨ Sharon Mitchell, delivering free Reiki & Chair Massage sessions

Our friendly clinical team will provide cervical smear tests in a relaxed and supportive setting. Cervical screening is quick, routine, and one of the best ways to protect your health by detecting changes early.

North Doncaster Primary Care Network – Extended Access Appointments

These additional appointments outside the core surgery hours are delivered by a range of healthcare professionals, including GPs, Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists, ANPs and Physiotherapists.

Appointment availability includes select early mornings, evenings and Saturdays (Physio only).

👥📲Appointments are offered as a suitable mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations.
⌚If you need an appointment outside of usual opening hours e.g. before or after work or school, please speak to your Reception Team to check availability.
👀 57 of these out of core hour appointments were missed in December. It is important to tell your Reception staff as soon as possible if you can't attend so the appointment can be offered to someone who may need it!
