We’re currently progressing on a multi-floor office refurbishment for Lucchini Unipart Rail Ltd in Doncaster, working alongside Jefferson Sheard Architects to transform the site into a modern, compliant and efficient workspace.

The project spans the ground, first, and second floors, and focuses on reconfiguring the internal layout to support a more practical and future-ready working environment.

Project highlights so far:

- Selective removal of the internal walls, floor slabs, and existing doors/windows to reshape the space

- Careful isolation of services and controlled demolition to ensure safety and site readiness for construction

- Formation of new rooms and circulation routes using a combination of metal stud and blockwork partitions

- Installation of fire-rated doors and compartment walls to meet current fire safety standards

- Introduction of durable, hygienic finishes including suspended ceilings, Whiterock panelling in key areas, and safety flooring from Altro and Forbo

- All surfaces finished with high-quality Dulux coatings for a fresh look

- Works programmed and phased to maintain safe access and limit disruption during the build

Work is continuing on our latest project for the Lucchini Unipart Rail Ltd Trax Park site in Doncaster, working closely with Jefferson Sheard Architects to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment across both office and workshop areas.

This refurbishment involves a complete reconfiguration of the offices, meeting rooms, and welfare facilities with improved fire safety and acoustic performance throughout.

Key highlights of the project so far include:

- Stripping back redundant walls, doors, ceilings, and internal finishes to open up and reimagine the space

- Laying the groundwork for new partitioning, ceilings, and high-spec finishes to support day-to-day operations

- Upgrading safety systems, including fire alarm and emergency lighting, to ensure full compliance with current standards

- Installing hygienic wall cladding in wet areas to enhance durability and cleanliness

- Improving the site layout externally with updated traffic markings and signage to streamline vehicle and pedestrian movement

- Expanding parking capacity to better serve staff, visitors, and delivery access

The careful removal of outdated fixtures and fittings will make way for a modern, future-proofed, functional workspace that’s built around Unipart’s needs.

In 2020, we took on the largest project in our company’s history: a £1.5m industrial development at Broomhouse Lane in Doncaster.

- The project included the construction of 11 units across 6 newly constructed industrial buildings.

- A full concrete hard standing was laid across the site to create a strong, durable surface to handle daily industrial use.

- We also installed large attenuation tanks to manage surface water and drainage on site.

This is a huge milestone and proud moment for all of our team, delivered with excellence at every stage of the project.

We’re well underway with the groundwork on an industrial unit for Legrand in West Bromwich, alongside John Hill Associates.

This phase of the project had a tight deadline, so close collaboration between all involved was important for a solid start.

To prepare for the industrial unit installation, our skilled team of over a dozen workers laid raft foundations on strip footings.

More than 500m3 of concrete has been poured across multiple sessions using two 42m telescopic concrete pumps, operated by our workers.

The final surface was smoothed out using ride-on power floats.

We’ve been working closely with Building Link Design to transform Polypipe's Neal Road Office into a modern and functional workspace.

Glass walls and doors are now in place in the new office areas to create a bright, open-plan environment, with new air conditioning and circulation systems added throughout the building for a steady flow of fresh air.

Developments in the auditorium space shaping up well, with the main structure now complete. The installation of a moveable partition wall will follow to give the space extra flexibility.

The new canteen area, medical meeting and examination room, and extra storage are key features to the office to make daily life more comfortable and efficient for staff. We’ve also made some key safety enhancements, including replacing all fire doors, safely removing asbestos, and replacing the exterior windows.

Now onto the finishing touches: roof tiling, door installation, painting and completing the skirting boards and architraves, which are all coming along nicely!

All of this is down to the collaborative effort from Building Link Design and our skilled team.

We’re proud to have been appointed as the main contractor for Polypipe, leading on the renovations of their Broomhouse Lane Despatch Canteen in Doncaster.

The project began with the demolition of their existing break area and offices, making way for the creation of new walls and employee facilities:

- We’ve built two spacious and functional offices to give a flexible space for meetings.

- A newly fitted kitchen and break area with custom-made benches and tables has been installed, designed with a modern and minimal aesthetic. The neutral colour palette and lack of branding give employees a comfortable place to relax and recharge.

- A large new locker room now provides secure storage for up to 300 employees.

- All restrooms have been refreshed, including the addition of an accessible toilet.

Take a look at the progress on site at Hall Cross School in Doncaster, where we're delivering a new two-storey extension alongside Building Link Design.

The building will provide six additional classrooms and a landscaped courtyard to support students in both learning and day-to-day school life.

The site has been managed carefully to minimise disruption to nearby classrooms, with major works, such as crane lifts and concrete pours, planned during school holidays.

A site visit is where planning begins and project visions start to take shape.

Before we agree on timelines, we need to understand the site properly. That means looking at the access, checking for risks, and spotting anything that could cause problems later.

Working alongside Jefferson Sheard Architects, we've been appointed as the main contractor for the internal refurbishment and external works at Unipart Rail's Trax Park site in Doncaster.

The project involves reconfiguring the ground, first-floor office and workshop areas. Early works included the demolition of non-structural partitions, the removal of selected doors, glazed screens, ceiling grids, and finishes, as well as levelling the floor slabs where needed to make way for the new layout.

As the build progresses following the strip out, new partitions will be installed to form office spaces, meeting rooms, sanitary facilities, and open-plan working areas. The fit-out will include fire-rated glazed screens, suspended and MF ceilings, varied floor and wall finishes, and Whiterock hygienic wall cladding in wet areas. Upgrades to fire compartmentation, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems will also be completed to meet current building regulations.
Externally, the project includes new line marking and wayfinding to improve traffic flow and safety across the site. Additional parking spaces will also be created to accommodate both cars and larger vehicles.

We've been appointed as the main contractor on the internal refurbishment of LUR's Doncaster office space, working alongside Jefferson Sheard Architects.

The project involves extensive remodelling across the ground, first, and second floors, starting with demolishing selected non-structural walls, removing redundant floor slabs, and removing existing doors and windows to make way for a new internal layout. As the project progresses, we'll install new metal stud and blockwork partitions to form offices, meeting rooms, welfare areas, and circulation spaces. Finishes will include suspended ceilings, Altro and Forbo safety flooring, Whiterock hygienic wall panels, and painted surfaces. Fire doors and compartment walls will also be installed in line with current fire safety standards.

The works will be carefully sequenced to maintain access and minimise disruption throughout.
